paths and Rook problems only in OSX CRAN binary package?
Hi everyone, I'm trying to diagnose a problem in my R package, but it is a little tricky since it seems to occur only with the Mac OSX CRAN binary build. My package starts a Rook server and opens a browser. On my own system (details below), when I build the package, I have no trouble. The Rook server starts and the page loads in the browser. However, if I've installed it from CRAN, I

problem with OSX binary package build?
I noticed that my package BayesFactor (http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/BayesFactor/index.html) is not available on Mac OS, and the note says to see the check log. The only issue in the check log is a note: checking R code for possible problems ... NOTE all.Nways.env.mc : <local>: no visible binding for global variable 'i' all.Nways.env.mc: no visible binding for global

as.zoo question
this is probably a question for gabor or achim but maybe someone else can answer it in case they are not around ? Ifr you paste the code below ( again you would need the zoo and chron libraries to be installed ), you should get the error "Error in Ops.POSIXt(frequency, freq) : %% not defined for "POSIXt" objects". What I want to do is take the numeric vector, lt, and

MCMCpack: Selecting a better model using BayesFactor
Dear R users, Thanks in advance. I am Deb, Statistician at NSW Department of Commerce, Sydney. I am using R 2.9.1 on Windows XP. This has reference to the package “MCMCpack”. My objective is to select a better model using various alternatives. I have provided here an example code from MCMCpack.pdf. The matrix of Bayes Factors is: model1 model2 model3 model1 1.000 14.08

Text Encoding
Dear R-Help, I am using the RDF package/ R 2.14 with the RDF package to download data from a website, and then use R to manipulate it. Text on the website is UTF-8. The RDF package's rdf_load command is converting it into a different encoding, which converts non-ASCII characters to unicode codes. On the webpage/sparql RDF: "4.5µg of cDNA was used" In R, the RDF triple gives:

Hola, Carlos: Gracias!. Muy buena idea!. No conocía ese paquete. Se entiende que funciona también en Linuz y Mac, ¿verdad?. Un saludo. save() saves extra stuff if object is not evaluated
Hi, it looks like save() is saving all contents of the calling environments if the object to be saved is *not* evaluated, although it is not that simple either. After many hours of troubleshooting, I'm still confused. Here is a reproducible example (also attached) with output. I let the code and the output talk for itself: peek <- function(file, from=1, to=500) {

arrayInd and which
Folks, I have Googled but not found much regarding arrayInd aside from the "which" help page. Any good examples or docs on what arrayInd does that is better or different from which()? In addition take the following 20x10 matrix: td<-structure(c(1, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 4, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 1, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 1, 6, 6, 6, 6,

How to write the bytes 00 01 00 to a file/connection?
Is there any way to write (8-bit) bytes to a file which works on all [R] platforms? I have been looking at 1) writeBin 2) writeChar 3) cat and neither of them manage to write arbitrary sequences of bytes (0-255). For instance, I would like to create a binary file of length three containing the bytes 0, 1 and 0. I [R] I have the following vector of bytes: bfr <- c(0,1,0) 1) For

[LLVMdev] GEP::getIndexValid() with other iterators
Hi Chris, > What flavor of iterators do you want to pass in? vector or > smallvector? If so, a pointer to the first element + extents is fine. I was passing a std::vector in. And you are quite right, first element + size works like a charm. Since I am using a vector of uint64_t's instead of Value*, I did need to add an extra version of getIndexedType(), taking a uint64_t* instead

[LLVMdev] How to create global string array? (user question)
I am trying to create such module with API (it's equivalent to c++: const char* ss[] = {"s1","s2"};): @ss = global [2 x i8*] [i8* getelementptr inbounds ([3 x i8]* @.str1, i32 0, i32 0), i8* getelementptr inbounds ([3 x i8]* @.str2, i32 0, i32 0)] ; <[2 x i8*]*> [#uses=0] @.str1 = private constant [3 x i8] c"s1\00", align 1 ; <[3 x i8]*> [#uses=1]

R 3.0.0: wrong MD5 checksums for Windows?
Hello dear R-devel, When installing R 3.0.0 on Windows 7, and then running: require(tools) checkMD5sums(dir=R.home()) I get the following massage: files ‘etc/Rconsole’, ‘etc/Rprofile.site’ have the wrong MD5 checksums [1] FALSE This happens when using the 32 and the 64 bit version of R. And was also reported by 2 other users on other machines, as can be seen in the comments to this post:

vcovHC and arima() output
Dear all, how can I use vcovHC() to get robust/corrected standard errors from an arima() output? I ran an arima model with AR(1) and got the estimate, se, zvalue and p-value using coeftest(arima.output). However, I cannot use vcovHC(arima.output) to get corrected standard errors. It seems vcovHC works only with lm and plm objects? Is there another way I can get robust/corrected

mcmapply Core Usage
Hello, I have a minimal example that shows a problem I'm having with parallel processing. library(parallel) mcmapply(function(x, y) { print("Running") Sys.sleep(10) }, as.list(1:10), as.list(10:1), mc.cores = 16, SIMPLIFY = FALSE) I see "Running" printed once every ten seconds. I read the documentation for mcmapply, but I don't understand why it wouldn't
