Being VERY careful while using the --delete option
On UNIX, I am executing an rsync command, from within a script. The command goes something like this: /usr/bin/rsync --verbose --progress --stats --compress --recursive --times --perms --links --safe-links source_dir/ user at target_machine:/parent_path/source_dir In other words, I am replicating source_dir on a remote machine. It ends up next to a lot of sibling, directories, like this: On

[Bug 273] sshd hangs on shell exit if user spawned child with/bin/nohup
Perhaps the man page should be fixed then, because neither rsh nor rlogin provide any kind of port forwarding, or X11 forwarding, etc... Also, the comparison between ssh and rsh is more appropriate if you're talking about SSHv1 and much less so if you're talking about SSHv2. question about llvmlite
Hi all, I am using llvmlite for pyvex and I want the output of my code (which is written based on llvmlite) to be like pyvex. In pyvex, (https://github.com/angr/pyvex). Considering pyvex, I tried to implement the following statements in pyvex to llvmlite: for stmt in irsb.statements: if isinstance(stmt, pyvex.IRStmt.Store): print "ST%s(%s) = %s" % (self.endness[-2:].lower(),

[LLVMdev] Folding instructions
Dear LLVMers, I am trying to fold memory operands in the way that is done in RegAllocLocal.cpp, or in LiveIntervalAnalysis.cpp, but I am getting errors that I don't know how to fix. Could someone tell me which steps should I take in order to correctly fold memory operands? The code that I am using is: const TargetMachine & target_machine = this->machine_function->getTarget();

bug report: errors in file transfer
Hi! I just encountered a serious problem with rsync. I used rsync to copy a big directory between two computers. The source machine was a sun, the destination was a linux box. The destination directory did not exist before the copy started. I used the following command to copy the directory over: rsync -aSz source_machine:projects/ projects2 because I was somewhat paranoid, I checked if all

Incremental backup with only delta into a separate file.

"force create mode" not enforced from linux client
My Samba v3.0.25b (in CentOS v5.1) has the smb.conf shown below. What I'm seeing is that "force create mode" is not enforced when accessed by a Linux CIFS client (Fedora 7). On the server, user steve has a home directory of /home/steve, and the public directory is /home/samba/public. The shares are mounted from the client fstab like this: //nemesis/steve /mnt/cifs/myhome cifs

[semi-OT] C7 Possible bug but I can't determine what tool has the problem
Hi all, I'm writing a script that uses rsync to sync 2 dirs on C7. I noticed a strange behaviour. I have 2 dir: src and dest. In src dir I generate a testfile with "dd if=/dev/zero of=testfile bs=1M count=100" and when I run "du -h testfile" I get the correct result. Then I sync src/ to dest/ using "rsync -avS? src/ dest/", all ok but when I run "du -h
