Warning: No NC replicated for Connection!
Hello, I've just installed in two Debian 7 servers the latest Samba 4 (4.1.3) using sernet packages. Following the instructions in https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_DC_HOWTO and https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/HOWTO/Join_a_domain_as_a_DC, I've created an Active Directory domain and configure both servers as Domain Controllers. Everything was fine, but when I execute:

Samba 4 two DCs no matching UID/GID
But will this idmap.ldb change work for upcoming new users or groups so that uid/gid will not be different? The wiki tells us about built-in groups. Those have the right ids. Am 9. Question about adding DNS records
Hello all, I managed to install an extra DC. The first DC is comsrv01a with ip 192.168.0.200. I run Samba 4.1.9 and BIND 9.8.1-P1. The new DC is srv01ham with ip 172.16.32.222. I use the internal DNS. I run Samba 4.1.9. I use a permanent LAN-2-LAN VPN via my Draytek routers. The first DC (comsrv01a, 192.168.0.200) is my primary DNS server. This is configured in all my routers and DHCP servers.

Samba4 AC DC Ready! But "W2k8 R2" doesn't join...
Hey guys! This is my first message to this list... I'm must say that I'm very impressed with Samba4! It is an amazing project! Nice job!! Last time I used Samba was back in 1998~2000... But, I got a new job that is forcing me to remove 3 Windows Servers with AD, by Samba4. So, I just deployed Samba4 on top of Ubuntu 14.04, it have Bind9, IPv6, a Secondary DC with replication, everything

Provision new domain from Windows AD
Hi everyone, What I want to achieve is to provision a new domain with the users, groups and group policy of an existing AD domain. Is this what I would use the vampire function for? Am I on the wrong track? Alex Ferrara Director Receptive IT Solutions

Joining Samba4 to Domain as DC with Small Business Server 2008 - error with Exchange ldap entries
Hi All I'm trying to join and existing Windows domain with Samba4, on Centos 6.5 Final. I initially tried with the Centos rpm's but it seems the samba-tools didn't exist so I am now using the rpms from SerNet Enterprise SAMBA. The current DC is a Windows Small Business Server 2008 that provides file, print, DNS, DHCP, AD and MS exchange/Outlook Web access. The domain Company.local

Samba 4 two DCs no matching UID/GID
I found this. But I didn't find it related to DC idmapping replication. I have two pieces of hardware. My goal is realize an active directory for the windows clients and a file server. The AD should have redundancy (this is why I provisioned two DCs). The file should integrate snapshots like a NetApp system (snapshots are done by rsnapshot). The snapshot functionality works so far by mounting

Sernet Samba-4 Howto for Centos 6.4
I have registered at https://portal.enterprisesamba.com, but am unclear regarding which packages to install for a fully functioning samba4 installation, or if there are prerequisites such as krb5. I am starting with a minimal install of Centos 6.4. I can make some reasonably educated guesses, but don't want to miss something important. Anyone know if there is a step by step howto for

Samba 4 two DCs no matching UID/GID
I think I will only need uid and gid due to fs stuff. There are only Windows clients in that domain. So when the IDs are the same on both DCs, all will be fine I think. In RSAT there are no Unix attributes set. As an example: user1 has uid 3000021 on DC1 (first provisioned one). DRS seems fine. On DC2 user1 gets uid 3000017. If I set ID in RSAT Unix attributes after choosing domain, the IDs

Samba 4 two DCs no matching UID/GID
I will try this tomorrow. Possibly this is my fix. When a domain is provisioned with rfc2307 it would make sense that Unix attributes especially uid/gid would automatically be set. A member also needs this to be set for unique fs acls right? Am 10. DC Upgrade Compiled to Package
Marc- Thanks for the advice. In regards to the FSMO roles, when we were originally testing, we found that in our version, FSMO roles could not be transferred (or even seized). Would you recommend adding the new versioned DC to the existing domain and attempting a seize on the new version once the old FSMO owner is offline? What about stopping samba on the old FSMO owner and copying the TDB

Samba 4 two DCs no matching UID/GID
At the moment numbers start at 3000000 and counting. In my eyes it would make sense, that these number be stored in the AD when provisioned with rfc2307. Or it should be replicated by drs. https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Using_RFC2307_on_a_Samba_DC#Configuring_RFC2307_and_NIS_Extensions_in_a_Samba_AD says the following: No need for manual ID counting when using the default Microsoft tools. Samba4 Secondary DC as Backup DC (redundancy)
Hi, I've sucessfull created a secondary DC using the wiki manual ( https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Join_a_domain_as_a_DC), and is working perfectly, user and groups are synced on both and I can use any of them for login using clients like Owncloud, Prosody, python scripts... Now my question is: ?how I can use that secondary DC as backup when the main fails?. I've tried to disable the
