samba-tool time
Hi Andrew,
what is it for? I got a revision_match_error. Could this be the reason why my windows clients can't sync the time via nt5ds?
How can I solve this?
Regards
Tim

Samba4: W2k clients cannot set / sync time with samba4 AD DC
As a follow-up to this thread
(https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2013-April/172892.html) I have
created an extra topic, because this is related only to NTP/time sync.
I have done some more tests on this topic, as this really hurts and I
wouldn't be able to migrate to samba4 in productional environment. We
are still using lots of W2k clients which cannot be replaced or
upgraded. Well,

Samba4: W2k clients cannot set / sync time with samba4 AD DC
Hello,
I HAVE sniffed the network traffic for this w2k client and
provided the link via paste.ubuntu.com, so everybody can look inside
that without the need
of extra-tools like wireshark. And as I realized you have looked into
that sniffed result output. I did it this way, because I work on an
isolated test env which I cannot access through my computers and do file
transfers. And I dont

For me it looks like this:
It will work, if I ask for the time on one of my DCs.
It will fail, if I ask some other ntp server.
That should give the direction for looking deeper.

samba-tool time
Hey Andrew,
mssntp could be the word that I miss. If I remember right, my ntpd.conf is not restricted to mssntp as the wiki says. I have to check that.
Possibly this is my problem of revision mismatch.
What importance has samba-tool time? What function does it have?

Hmmm, restrict mssntp like in the wiki didn't work.
Is there a problem when it's not working?

Hai,
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/networking/windows-time-service/how-the-windows-time-service-works
Look in the above link, search for "Time Synchronization in an AD DS Hierarchy".
There you find the PDC Emulator role. In the piramide. ;-)
This one explains even better then the technet link.
It also explains Alexei's question i believe.

OK, it seems to be an authentication issue. At least w.r.t. the member server.
When I add the user name, it does ask me for the password and succeeds.
I don't see any difference when using IP numbers instead of host names.

barplot fill patterns
Dear R-helpers,
I will like to know if there is a way to generate a stacked column
graph using both patterns and colors to fill the bars. I have many
categories for the number of color available in R, so I will like R to
start with solid colors and then use patterns an colors. I have been
using barplot and some code that I found in the archives, but I am
still having bars with the

Plot unusual subset of data
Hi,
I have a function that approximates some data and indicates "segments".
I'd like to plot the original data, and then the linear approximations on top of it. (Ideally, just a subset of N rows at a time, as the data set is large.)
I can't figure out a clean way to do this. Suggestions?
here is some sample data:

qr.solve and lm
Dear R experts,
I have a Matlab code which I am translating to R in order to examine and
enhance it.
First of all, I need to reproduce in R the results which were already
obtained in Matlab (to make sure that everything is correct).
There are some matrix manipulations and '\' operation among them in the
code.
I have the following data frame

kernel density to smooth plots
Hi r-sers,
I have a data of relative frequencies for the interval of 0-20, 20-40,...380-400. I would like the two data on the same graph using the same x-axis label. My question is how to get a smooth curve using kernel density code if it possible for this data.

Time sync
Hy Guys,
My samba version: 4.0.13
ntp version: 4.2.6p3
Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS
I have a weird problem, I sat up the time service via
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Configure_NTP
On the servers I have no firewall.
This port is open when i check with nmap, ntp runs.
Looks like all of my Windows 7 clients works fine but w32tm /resync says
Permission denied 0x8007005, so not that good :)
