Time synchronization problem. Chrony, ntp
My tests: -Boot a backed up ?new? VM with chrony 4.3 and samba 4.19 installed, joined a new Win 10 machine, time syncs OK with Type: NT5DS. -Updated DC samba to 4.21.3 without removing the Windows machine from domain. Time syncs OK with NT5DS. -Leave domain, try to w32tm /monitor -> error can?t reach DCs (expected) -Join domain again: time syncs OK with NT5DS. I can?t reproduce. Can we make

Hi Andrew, what is it for? I got a revision_match_error. Could this be the reason why my windows clients can't sync the time via nt5ds? How can I solve this? Regards Tim Am 28. Samba4: W2k clients cannot set / sync time with samba4 AD DC
As a follow-up to this thread (https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2013-April/172892.html) I have created an extra topic, because this is related only to NTP/time sync. I have done some more tests on this topic, as this really hurts and I wouldn't be able to migrate to samba4 in productional environment. We are still using lots of W2k clients which cannot be replaced or upgraded. Well,

Time sync issue
I'm a little late to the game on this. Just upgraded a few of our Samba servers to Ubuntu 24.04 and was pleased to see ntpsec... And today I see that time is not syncing on the windows machines. Before I saw the registry entry work around on this mailing list, I did some testing. Found that I can sync older Linux machines with the newer ntpsec servers without problems (tested with ntpdate),

Samba4: W2k clients cannot set / sync time with samba4 AD DC
Hello, I HAVE sniffed the network traffic for this w2k client and provided the link via paste.ubuntu.com, so everybody can look inside that without the need of extra-tools like wireshark. And as I realized you have looked into that sniffed result output. I did it this way, because I work on an isolated test env which I cannot access through my computers and do file transfers. And I dont

Hey Andrew, mssntp could be the word that I miss. If I remember right, my ntpd.conf is not restricted to mssntp as the wiki says. I have to check that. Possibly this is my problem of revision mismatch. What importance has samba-tool time? What function does it have? Am 1. Hmmm, restrict mssntp like in the wiki didn't work. Is there a problem when it's not working? Am 1. Hai, https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/networking/windows-time-service/how-the-windows-time-service-works Look in the above link, search for "Time Synchronization in an AD DS Hierarchy". There you find the PDC Emulator role. In the piramide. ;-) This one explains even better then the technet link. It also explains Alexei's question i believe. Greetz, Louis

I noticed a problem with time synchronization on all Windows endpoints. I am using Samba 4.21.3 and Chrony 4.3-2. When I run the following command in Windows: w32tm /monitor dc1.xxxx.pl *** PDC ***[192.168.45.10:123]: ICMP: 1ms delay NTP: +0.0000000s offset from dc1.xxxx.pl RefID: time.cloudflare.com [162.159.200.123] Stratum: 4 dc2.xxxx.pl[192.168.45.9:123]: ICMP: 1ms delay NTP: -0.0001207s

barplot fill patterns
Dear R-helpers, I will like to know if there is a way to generate a stacked column graph using both patterns and colors to fill the bars. I have many categories for the number of color available in R, so I will like R to start with solid colors and then use patterns an colors. I have been using barplot and some code that I found in the archives, but I am still having bars with the
