syncing from the "file-list" option
Hello, all.
I'm a begineer for rsync and please help me.
I would like to sync data between two ftp sevrer.
If one change/add/delete data usingf ftp, other ftp server should sync from
the main ftp servert.
In my thought, full data directory syncing is too slow, so if the client
uses " --files-from" option, sync speed more fast than full data directory
syncing.

Rsync and RAID storage specifications
Hello,
I am going to use Rsync over millions of files, with --link-dest option.
So huge read activity at the beginning of each backup, and huge hard links creation activity.
Of course I will use a RAID array on receiver side, dedicated to Rsync.
Do you have any recommandation over RAID type, number of disks and chunk size to use ?
Thank you very much !

ACL and link-dest
Hello,
I am trying to use ACL and link-dest without success.
Here is what I do.
First step, without ACL :
rsync -ai --link-dest=<date_folder_1> --link-dest=<date_folder_2> /sourcedir myserver::backup/$(date)/
All works fine there, my files are hard linked together, "ls -li" on myserver confirms.
Second step, adding ACL :
rsync -aiA --link-dest=<date_folder_1>

Speed of for loops
Hi Everyone,
I have a question about for loops. If you have something like:
f <- function(x) {
y <- rep(NA,10);
for( i in 1:10 ) {
if ( i > 3 ) {
if ( is.na(y[i-3]) == FALSE ) {
# some calculation F which depends on one or more of the previously
generated values in the series
y[i] = y[i-1]+x[i];
} else {
y[i] <- x[i];
}
}
}

chdir / chroot after pre-xfer ?
Hello,
I am trying to configure rsyncd to mount destination encrypted FS
(using EncFS) before syncing.
In my rsyncd.conf :
[test]
path = /home/dest
<...>
pre-xfer exec = sleep 30 ; echo mypassword | encfs -S /home/
encrypteddir /home/dest ; sleep 30
(I have put "sleep 30" instructions just to make some tests)
/home/encrypteddir is correctly mounted by rsyncd to /home/dest

Errors in speex lib with Blackfin
Hello!
I'v downloaded speex lib 1.1.11.1.
I am trying to port speex lib to Blackfin processor.
I am using VisualDSP++ 4.0.
If I am compiling source codes with using floating point everything
ok.
When I am compiling with FIXED_POINT defined everything's ok and code
works about two times faster.
But when I am defining BFIN_ASM I am getting several compiling errors
in Blackfin assembler

[PATCH 0/8] Add MD inspection support to libguestfs
This series fixes inspection in the case that fstab contains references to md
devices. I've made a few changes since the previous posting, which I've
summarised below.
[PATCH 1/8] build: Create an MD variant of the dummy Fedora image
I've double checked that no timestamp is required in the Makefile. The script
will not run a second time to build fedora-md2.img.

Timeout on deletion
Hello,
I use Rsync client (3.0.9) synchronising to a Rsync daemon (3.0.8) over SSH.
I have sometimes a huge amount of files to delete.
Rsync daemon can take a lot of time to delete them, leading Rsync client into a timeout?
Is there any way to avoid this timeout ?
I would have liked not to increase timeout value on client side (which is already set to 600 seconds), as I don't really know

help - "the condition has length > 1 and only the first element will be used"
Hello there,
I don't know if I'm addressing my question to the right e-mail address, I hope I do. Actually I have a little problem concerning writing a code in R. I try to briefly sum up my problem.
As you can see below, I created the functions "Equation1" and "Equation2" with some conditions.

[PATCH v3 0/3] Switch augeas APIs to OCaml
This reimplements the augeas APIs using ocaml-augeas (dropping all the
C code).
The behaviour seems unchanged, although I may have not tested all the
various corner cases.
Changes from v2:
- dropped patch #1, as it was applied already (was a real bugfix)
- rebased on master

bootstrap resampling question
Hello there,
I have a problem concerning bootstrapping in R - especially focusing on the resampling part of it. I try to sum it up in a simplified way so that I would not confuse anybody.
I have a small database consisting of 20 observations (basically numbers from 1 to 20, I mean: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ... 18, 19, 20).
I would like to resample this database many times for the bootstrap process with

changing the dimensions of a matrix in a real specific way
Hi again,
I'd like to ask you a question again.
I have a matrix like this:

Is there a proper way to change the dimensions of this matrix so that I'll get this as a result:
