Trouble with user who has mixed case login (upper and lower)
We're having an issue with a user who has a login with mixed case - we'll
call him "USERone".
Samba does not recognize him; it says that the "user does not exist" even
though he does - and we're using the correct case for each letter. We
would rename him to an all lower case name, but he there are multiple
folders, files, and groups and processes that we'd

One user's logon crashing Samba 3.0.0beta2-1
Hello,
I am running Debian/sarge and upgraded samba to 3.0 some time ago
Since the upgrade I am having an issue with one user connecting to
samba. When they try to access the samba file server from any machine
(2K/XP) the smbd has a panic and crashes after they put in the login
details. Samba continues to operate so I guess the daemon is
automatically re-started.
This samba box is part of an

LDAP: Connection appears to be hanging, reconnecting
Hello List
I have a strange problem here which i try to analyse, but i'm stuck.
Maybe someone has a hint?
What happened:
A few weeks ago one of the LDAPS Servers which is not maintained by us
has crashed. From that moment on, users could still login to check their
emails, but they were not able to send any email through postfix (which
uses smtpd_sasl_type = dovecot)

NTLM failures with an interesting twist
This is a tired old topic but I've at least got an angle on it:
Outlook Express works perfectly with IMAP / SPA for users logged into
our Windows domain; I just give the server address and username, and it
logs in without any password required; beautiful!

dsadd doesn't work correct
Hi together,
I installed samba 4 on a server with Debian-Wheezy-OS. Everything seems
to work fine. I can add a user with RSAT. The user is added to the AD,
the profile is stored in the server-profile-path and homepath can be
accessed.
I have to import about 400 datasets to the AD. Therefore I want to use
the commandlinetool dsadd. With this tool I can import datasets, which I
can see with RSAT.

citation() chops "Roeland " (PR#7797)
Full_Name: Jari Oksanen
Version: 2.0.1, 2.1.0 beta (2005-04-17)
OS: Linux
Submission from: (NULL) (130.231.102.145)
If name ends with "and", such as "Roeland Lastname", citation() will chop "and"
as a separate word giving "Roel and Lastname". This is the case in the upcoming
release of vegan (1.6-8) just submitted to CRAN. Basically, this seems to happen

collection_select default selected value
Hiall,
Unfortunately I just can''t find out how to setup a default selected
value when using collection_select. My call is like so:
<%= collection_select(:consultant, :lastname, @consultants, :id,
:lastname, { :selected => @current_consultant.id } ) %>
which is not working, I debugged so far that I know that
@current_consultant.id contains the correct value.
Any tips?
cheers

And consequently the following three models:

class Employee < ActiveRecord::Base
belongs_to :person
belongs_to :employer
end

Cyrus firstname.lastname@domain
I'm converting an environment from mandrake to centos, and always try to
use the applications standard on the distribution. This means a switch
from courier to cyrus.
A bit of reading uncovered a potential problem - the site uses
firstname.lastname at domain, and I have come across references that Cyrus
does not support this. I couldn't find this limitation in the Cyrus

unknown users
Hi,
can anyone tell me where these "unknown users" come from.
As far as I see the fact, dovecot is asked by postfix to look for the
password of the recipient-user (why ever).

dovecot and firstname.initial.lastname mbox format archive
hi
Today I have been in a puzzling fight with 2 dovecot versions that I would
like to ask some comments on.
The situation is this:
- I have a considerable mail archive in mbox format (yes, I know, but that
is what I have..).
- My mail reader is mutt 1.5.20 by the way.
- Some of these mbox files have names like firstname.initial.lastname
Note the . seperating the parts of the email-ers name.
