how to interpret nouveau feature matrix
I have a GeForce G 105M. That's, I guess, an NV50 family video card: https://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/CodeNames/#NV50 My question is... does Nouveau support HDMI with this video card? According to https://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/FeatureMatrix/ TVout is "TODO" and HDMI audio is "DONE". What about HDMI video? Is that grouped under TVout or is TVout supposed to be

Nouveau wiki translations
Hi guys, it's been a year since my last call (below) for updating translations. Unless anyone objects, I propose, that all translation pages are eligible for removal if they have not been properly updated within two weeks since the original page was updated. TiNDCs are an exception, they are not live content, and they should be up-to-date anyway, by definition. mwk already did some good

VAAPI on GeForce GT 620M
Hi, If I am reading the featurematrix <https://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/FeatureMatrix/> right, VAAPI is supported for nouveau on the GeForce650M (my card). "should be supported" sounds promising. Do you know since what version of what things it "should be supported", please? Hey, I am experiencing some issues in Ubuntu 17.10 with this card. Before I add any info, perhaps this is not at all supported? I don't see this card in the feature matrix: https://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/FeatureMatrix/ -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

family having (several?) different video decode engine. The only work I know about is an initial support for mpeg2 decode engine on nv40 : http://cgit.freedesktop.org/nouveau/linux-2.6/commit/?h=3Dnvfx-vpe&id=3D538= d6ef8aac1cd861f6336e24e79a315fe58aba0 And afaik, the other engines are mostly unknown (no RE and no code). Some of these details could be wrong, in that case hopefully someone can

State of Video Decoding for Maxwell cards
Well, you are most likely using the CPU for decoding here. Currently nobody is working on that, because this is quite a big and challenging project. We have an open project idea regarding this for EVoC and GSoC though: "Maxwell Accelerated Video Decoding" https://www.x.org/wiki/SummerOfCodeIdeas/ On Thu, Nov 30, 2017 at 1:18 PM, Christoph Böhmwalder <christoph at boehmwalder.at>

GP102 should be supported. Depending on what you're looking for to be supported, your distribution may not be shipping the required versions of various software. Nouveau and multi-monitor setup for Quadro NVS450 (G98)
Hi, I have a NVidia Quadro NVS450 graphics card with on screen (4800 x 1200 pixels) over three monitors. I use the proprietary NVidia modules to achieve accelerated 2D graphics and display effects. Since about the beginning of 2014, probably related to changes in the X11 or compositing manager, I experience screen lockups lasting from few seconds to several minutes. I therefore would like to

Question on non-blocking socket
Hi, December 27, 2021 I started a thread asking for help troubleshooting non-blocking sockets. While developing the RBaseX client, I had issues with the authentication process. It eventually turned out that a short break had to be inserted in this process between sending the credentials to the server and requesting the status. Tomas Kalibera put me on the right track by drawing my attention

Thanks for the info. Two issues: If I don't set `nomodeset` in the Linux args I get a freeze at boot. Know anything about that? Another issue is that in Google Chrome I seem have no hardware acceleration for anything other than "Multiple Raster Threads". See attached. If my kernel/libs are too old, please just tell me to fluff off. But I am on the development branch of Ubuntu...

State of Video Decoding for Maxwell cards
Hi Everyone, I have a Maxwell Card (GTX 970/NV 110) and would very much like to use nouveau to drive it. The problem is that the performance -- especially when decoding high-resolution video -- seems to be relatively poor compared to the proprietary Nvidia driver. I'm interested in Kernel Development and pretty much the only thing keeping me from tracking the upstream kernel (and using my

Only some Chrontel branded chips are currently supported.

8K HEVC decoding with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
Hi all, I have developed an Android VR player, which supports 4K video playback so far. I want to include the support for 8K video. The current Snapdragon 845 mobile platform supports up to 4K video playback, which lacks the support for my requirement. So I choose Android-x86 as my platform for development, which is Android OS runs on Intel x86 architecture. I've tried to play 8K(7680*3840)
