Samba4 gid-to-sid question
Hi. We used info from a SID created using samba-tool group add to posix-ify it and then add a posix-ifed domain user to it. The AD doco defines two sorts of SID. Ones that change, and ones that don't. Here is a search on our posix-ified group: ldbsearch --url=/usr/local/samba/private/idmap.ldb 'xidnumber=3000012' objectSid: S-1-5-21-980186919-4150830324-975011627-1121 We set the

Cannot export all my users using pdbedit
Hello again, I'm trying to move all my users from an old Samba server to a new Samba AD server. When I try to do a 'classicupgrade' the process crashes after a while without giving me a clear indication of what is going wrong. When I try to export the users using pdbedit -e smbpasswd , some of the accounts simply fail. If I look at the output I see something like: Processing

Perhaps you could add a warm-start to the AEC, such that the parameters start near the correct values on all but the first use? AGC on a phone conversation
I have a recorded conversation from an analog trunk. As usual one side is stronger that the other one. In my case, the gap between signal levels are even bigger. How does speex AGC preprocessor will perform on this type of audio recording? Maybe I am wrong and AGC is not really what I need to equalize the two persons in my phone conversation? As I Understand, AGC will perform better if each

Samba 2.2.6pre2 doesn't try to lookup for user user name by SID + pdbedit
I have instaled samba 2.2.6pre2 (due problems with printr drivers download in 2.2.5) and I have also tried to install it using ldapsam backend. It seems be working, but there are two problems: - if I try to display directory ACL (file - properties - security) I show only the user name, group name and others field are shown only as SIDs. There is no hit to LDAP (OK, groups seems be supported

samba4: samba-tool and (unix) uids
Hello, at my universities CS computer pools we're trying to migrate our samba3 based NT domain to AD with samba4-rc1. In the past we had a little script which our users could run on their own from their linux account which created a samba user with their own uid/gid and set their password (via smbpasswd). We're trying to recreate this behaviour with "samba-tool user create"

Migrate GPO policies does not work properly.
Hi, I successfully migrated my GPO policies in a new installation of domain controller. After I joined a Windows 10 machine to the domain the gpupdate /force command printed this errors all of my policies. filtering not applied (empty) On the server side everything looks fine. I checked the tdb files under the /var/lib/samba/private/sam.ldb.d/ folder. The
