Engine: access to url_helpers otside view/controller
I use Engine. How to get access to url_helpers, such as <name>_path or _<name>_url, in a separate class? In application it simple: Rails.application.routes.url_helpers.<name>_path But how to get access to url_helpers in Engine? When I use Rails.application.routes.url_helpers.root_path, then I get ''/'', root of Application. Other helpers for Engine

url_helpers in /lib
Hi, I''m trying to generate some static feeds using a script in /lib that I will later call from a sidekiq worker and I need to access the URL helpers from my library, how can I do it? What I tried so far is including Rails.application.routes.url_helpers in my class but it doesn''t seem to work. I''ve also tried to follow this blog post

rSpec (rev 2996), Rails (rev 8214): TextMate bundle problems
Hey guys, I''m trying to get rSpec (rev 2996) working with Rails 2 (rev 8214). Running the tests from the command line works, no problem. I installed the RSpec.tmbundle (also rev 2996), and would like to see the HTML test results in TextMate. When I run the "Run examples in selected files/directories" command in TextMate, I get the following dump:

Getting rspec error: Net::SMTPServerBusy: Relay access denied
I''m trying to test registration emails (sent with devise), and I keep getting the error: Net::SMTPServerBusy: 454 4.7.1 <model_spec-hcDgGtZH8xNBDgjK7y7TUQ@public.gmane.org>: Relay access denied I''m running Rails 3.2.11 with Capybara, and I have (temporarily) chopped my spec_helper.rb and test.rb files down to the bare minimum, still getting the error above.

rspec spec_helper
Hi, I was playing with rspec and every time I find a possible improvement that could be made in spec_helper or rakefile I have to change it in every module that is using rspec tests. So maybe these things could be centralized, I thought to myself. I found the following module, actually. https://github.com/puppetlabs/puppetlabs-module_spec_helper But I am at a lost how to use it. Is it supposed

rSpec website tutorial correction
Hi there, On page http://rspec.rubyforge.org/documentation/rails/writing/views.html the view spec example is incorrect. Instead of: require File.dirname(__FILE__) + ''/../../spec_helper'' It should read: require File.dirname(__FILE__) + ''/../spec_helper'' Regards, Keith

How to stop Rspec loading my Cucumber fixtures
I have a bunch of fixtures designed to populate the database for my Cucumber integration tests. But at this stage I want my database to be empty when using Rspec. So, I moved the fixtures from `/spec/fixtures` to `features/support/fixtures`, and updated `features/support/env.rb` to read: Fixtures.reset_cache fixtures_folder = File.join(RAILS_ROOT, ''features'',

RSpec 0.9.4
RSpec 0.9.4 has just been released. Gems haven''t rsync''ed around the globe yet, so you might have to wait a few hours to install it. The big news this time is Spec::Ui 0.2.0, which has been released along with RSpec core. This RSpec extension gives you custom Watir matchers (custom Selenium-RC matchers are not implemented yet). Moreover, it comes with a custom KICK ASS formatter

Rspec not loading fixtures
I am taking over a code base and am trying to run the tests. I am somewhat new to RSpec so this might be a trivial problem. Basically I can tell that the fixtures are not getting loaded. All 100 tests fail with a similar error. But I don''t know why. Below is the code, with my narrative with *** before it... Can you see anything or give me a clue where to look. So far I am coming up

RSpec 2 not working on Rails 3.1.1
Hey, I updated some Gems and now rspec seems to be broken. The weird thing is it fails because of Test::Unit which doesnt make much sense to me. /Users/username/.rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.2-p290@ror_project/gems/rack-1.3.4/lib/rack/backports/uri/common_192.rb:53: warning: already initialized constant WFKV_ /Users/username/.rvm/rubies/ruby-1.9.2-p290/lib/ruby/1.9.1/test/unit/testcase.rb:9:in

have_tag matcher in rspec 2?
I always assumed have_tag was part of rspec, but it''s not in rspec 2, and looking now I don''t see it in rspec 1 either. Webrat defines it, but that seems like a coincidence (I tried requiring webrat/core/matchers to no avail). Is it depricated, not yet implemented, or does it work for everyone else? My project is from scratch, rspec-rails 2b13, using generated spec_helper.

Hi, Anyone know how to run rspec on 1.2.3? It fails out of the box.... I newly downloaded rspec, rspec_on_rails and ran the command ruby script/generate rspec ==>>> Does this script work right? from the instructions http://rspec.info/documentation/rails/install.html I then created the directories in spec: controllers, fixtures, helpers, models, views I then created the

Plugins ''speced'' with rSpec?
Hello, I''m trying to figure out how to setup a spec structure for plugins. I''m getting pretty lost in figuring out how to isolate a plugin enviornment emulating rails, but not actually being reflected upon the current rails project. What I mean is this, let''s say I have a comment plugin. This has two things in lib, the comment model (comment.rb) and then the module
