My console app doesn't run in wine
Hi, Dunno wether it's a problem in my app or wine, so I thought I'd better post here first before going to bugzilla. So pardon me if I'm wrong here with this. I wrote a Win32 console app which runs without problems on at least Win98 and WinXP. If I start it by doubleclick it also seems to run fine in wine (as far as it runs as a console app started without any command line args ;) )

2 bwplots - different colors
Hi all, I would like to draw one picture which would show two different types of boxplots using the same axes (kind of on top of each other). However, I would like to plot each boxplot using a different color or different shading inside the box, so they could be better distinquished from each other... Could you help me? Here is an example of the plot I have so far. I was only able to change the

Histogram with different colors for different portions
Dear Rusers, I would like to color different sections of a histogram different colors. I have an example that was done by "brute force" given below. Has anyone implemented something like this in general? If not, any suggestions/pointers on how to write a general function to do so would be most appreciated. Alan-

Problem with R colors
Hello, I am having difficulty obtaining the correct colors in my R charts. > colors()[c(552, 254, 26)] [1] "red" "green" "blue" But, if I specify col=552 in my barplot, I get gray bars. Likewise, col=254 gives bright pink, and col=26 is a red-orange. I get accurate results when I spell out the names, but I am making a pallet with 20- 30 colors and it is a

RHEL 4 (CENT OS) Am I waisting my time trying to get the 10G Clusterware installer to use OCFS2 volumes for the voting and OCR disks ? The ocfs2 setup seems happy on both nodes but the 10G installer says the location entered for the oracle cluster registry (OCR) is not shared across all the nodes in the cluster Do the volumes need to mounted ? I did with no change . [root@green rc5.d]#

Lower-case filenames on receiver side
Hi everybody, i've been using rsync for quite some time to sync files between my laptop and my desktop for example i use the following to backup the music library (from Mac to Linux) > rsync -rvzu --exclude=.DS_Store --delete --exclude 'Podcasts/*' > $LOCAL_MUSI $REMOTE_MUSIC >> $LOGFILE An odd thing i always noticed is that some files were always copied, even

Colours for sunflowerplot
Dear fellow R users, I would like to draw a "sunflowerplot" because I have data (decade by month) that plots multiple times on the same x-y co-ordinates. Further I would like to colour each of the points/sunflower leaves on the plot according to the group they belong to (i.e. which type of event each represents within that decade and month). I thought that this would be relatively

plot focus
I am doing calculations in a loop and then plotting the results by adding a point to each of 2 charts at the end of the loop. Its very informative as you can see the progression through time. My problem is, if I have 2 plots, I don't know how to get the focus back to the first plot. layout(matrix(c(1,2))) plot(iris[,1],col="red",) #plot1 plot(iris[,3],col="blue") #plot2

I jut noticed this example in the lucene documentation*: title:(+return +"pink panther") I have been using this syntax: +title:(return AND "pink panther") Seemingly with success. Are both acceptable? I couldn''t find any documentation on "the plus sign" itself. Thanks for any pointers. John

Change line colors based on data values in Lattice
Say I have x = seq(1, 40) y = seq(1, 40)^2 g = rep(c("A", "B", "A", "B"), each = 10) xyplot(y~x, groups = g, type = 'l') Is there a way to have a single line and have it be one color when g == "A", and another when g == "B"? Subset and point plot
OK, I need help plotting. I have column headings of Day, Wgt, Foodin, Rep, Grp and Tanks. Rep=c(1,2,3) and Tanks=c(a1,a2,a3,a4,a5,a6, c1,c2,c3,c4,c5,c6, h1,h2,h3,h4,h5,h6). I created a subset where I only would like Rep=2, and Tanks=c(a4,c4,h4) and would like to graph (points) of Wgt and Day. I would think that I only need 3 colors, but when I run with only 3, only 2 lines show up. When I add

testing proportional hazard in a Cox model including a time-varying covariate
I am using a syntax like coxph(Surv(start, stop, event) ~ X, data) to estimate the effect of X, which may change at each measurement (every 6 months). Is there anyone who knows a way to test the proportional hazard assumption in that case? Thank you in advance Jean-François Boudreau Sherbrooke University [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Convert list of lists <--> data frame
For a function that takes an argument as a list of lists of parameters, I'd like to be able to convert that to a data.frame and vice versa, but can't quite figure out how. pats <- list(structure(list(shape = 0, shape.col = "black", shape.lty = 1, cell.fill = "white", back.fill = "white", label = 1, label.size = 1, ref.col = "gray80",

Simple categorical scatter plot
New to R. I am trying to create a simple xy plot wherein the line segment color is determined by a categorical column The following does not change colors for me, probably because I don't quite have a handle on either functions or value mapping syntax. ---------- time <- c(1, 2, 3, 7,10,11,14,16,20) pressure <- c(0,10,20,20,50,18,60,65,90) status <- c(0, 0, 1, 1, 1, 0, 3, 3,

Colour filling in panel.bwplot from lattice
Inspired by colouring the dots of box-whisker plots I am trying to also fill the boxes (rectangles) with different colours. This seems not to work as I expected. Looking at the help page of panel.bwplot it says: 'fill - color to fill the boxplot'. Obviously it is only intended to fill all boxes with only one colour? Nevertheless the following example shows, that 'fill' from

colors for background and plotting area
Dear all, I am trying to prepare some figures where I'd like the color of the plot region (i.e., the area bounded by the axes) to be different from the margin area (i.e., the area of the figure not within the axes region). I can use "bg" but that changes the background of everything? How can I accomplish what I want? Thanks, Ramon -- Ramón Díaz-Uriarte Triana 47 28016 Madrid
