Custom Alloca implementation
---Adding llvm-dev list to CC---
Hi Alberto,
Thanks for your prompt reply. Actually, I need this information(about total
allocation size and object structure) on runtime, so that is why I was
planning to encode this info and store it in the memory itself.
Regards,
Udit

hello everyone,
I am Maheshwar, a prefinal year Computer Science undergraduate student at

interested in Quesry parser project. Till now i have implemented a couple of
LL(1) parsers as a part of my assignment in Compiler construction course,
so i would love to join and contribute to this project. So can any one tell

Custom Alloca implementation
Hello all,
In my project, I need to allocate an extra 4 Bytes in every Alloca
instruction. These additional bytes will be used to store the 'allocation
info'(like size and structure of the allocated object etc). Instead of
adding 4 bytes to the Alloca 'size' operand at every Alloca Instruction, I
was thinking to make this change at the level where Alloca gets converted
to machine

LTO query
Hopefully someone else on the dev list who has experience with LNT and the
LLVM test-suite will chime in. I've never run it myself. Adding Mehdi since
he ran it with LTO/ThinLTO.
I found some documentation for the test-suite:
https://llvm.org/docs/TestingGuide.html#test-suite-overview
http://llvm.org/docs/lnt/quickstart.html

other architecture style of relocation. Thats my question . Thats why i was
asking about the functions and their differences Please guide.
Thanks,

Relocation design of different architecture
Thanks for reply, it was really helpful. Can u just be more specific and
tell about processRelocationRef() and resolveRelocation() in
Targets/RuntimeDyld(objectfile format)(arch).h and also in
RuntimeDyldELF.cpp and how the same function is implemented in different
ways in both the files ?
Thanks,
Siddharth

LTO query
I'm not completely sure what you are asking. Are you looking for
performance benchmarks to use for LTO and ThinLTO testing? Or are you
asking how to build/run with LTO and ThinLTO? Are you asking how to run
LLVM's performance test-suite with LTO and ThinLTO?

Adding support for phonetic correction via soundex algorithms
Hello!
I'm Shubham Sharma, a 3rd year Information Systems student at BITS Pilani,
and I'd like to explore the possibilities of a GSOC Project that would aim
at improving the tolerant retrieval capabilities via *phonetic* correction(:
misspellings that arise because the user types a query that sounds like the
target term. ) I did find spelling correction via edit distance in

Disabling Exception in LLVM
LLVM does not allow the use of exceptions in our code. We do not allow throwing or catching them. That does not mean you cannot compile the code with exceptions enabled, it just means we don't use them.
Clang is a full C++ compiler. Even though LLVM & Clang do not use exceptions in their implementation, Clang does support compiling C++ code that uses exceptions.

Problem with Icecast2/Ices streaming MP3.
Hello everyone,
I am running Icecast 2.0.0 with ices-3.0. I run ices on a machine which
has all the mp3 files I am playing and stream these mp3 to Icecast which
is running on another machine. Every now and then, say 2 hours. Ices
keeps churning out errors saying updating meta data and socket errors
and keeps retrying and after some time it suceeds for one file and then

. Re: Java animations, Google Earth flashing with Compiz
Dear Dotan,
The problem of flashing/flickering in 3D apps/ videos
with Xv enabled on account of non-redirection is limited to AIGLX and not an
issue at all with XGL and compiz. fglrx till date has many mem leaks and
crappy 3d performance on linux especially with compiz enabled. If you want
to use these apps with compiz, for now use XGL. Else just disable compiz
temporarily when

str_count counts the substring
I am trying to count the number of times a word occurs in a string.
and using str_count function from the package stringr. This function counts
the substrings as well.
Is there a way in which I can exclude the substring count and just take the
exact match.
Thanks in advance.
