Konqueror Ajax update
I had been comparing IE and Firefox Ajax performance, and since I have a couple of Unix boxes in my workshop, I threw Konqueror into the mix, and reported here earlier today (or yesterday) that Konqueror ( 3.4.3) could handle Ajax perfectly, at least as far as the simplest AWDWR Ajax example (./example/index) was concerned. It occurred to me to do a more grueling test. I took the

LAN discovery issue
Hi there, Following situation: 3 nodes, Alpha (Home fileserver), Beta (regular PC), Gamma (Notebook). All three in a NATed LAN usually, though the notebook also gets carried around and connects from the outside from time to time. Tinc should help me keep my other 2 PCs reachable from Gamma, even when I'm not at home. Also I plan on maybe adding more nodes to that in the future. I have set

Windows Firewall, network discovery
A couple of weeks ago, I asked for help with getting tinc to work with a couple of issues. I prioritize my hobby projects below essential things, and I'm a bit scatterbrained when there's an internet connection, so it took awhile before I finished trying the things you suggested, and got to a point where I was stuck again. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions! I set

smbd keeps maxing out the cpu, must reboot server constantly
This is running in vmware, and I noticed occasionally wmware reports that the cpu is being maxed out by a virtual machine. Logging into the virtual machine and running top confirms that the smbd process is maxing out the cpu. If I leave it alone for a while, eventually it starts dropping connections and not letting people into the file server. Killing the process with kill -9 does no good, it

Performance (cough cough) Poor: Instant Rails
Hi, In short, RoR is brand spanking new to me, I set up Instant Rails (if you can call copying files "setup") and made my own simple app via scaffold. One table, 11 cols, 100 rows. All is well, except when I view the data, it takes 5-10 seconds to show the page, 5-10 more seconds to get the edit page and so on. Going back to the previous page is no faster (via previous link).

larger than minimun MTU, forwarding via other node
First off, I would like to express my appreciation for the tinc software, it has been such a great vpn solution for what i need, its amazing. I am setting up another node on the vpn. "KVM" is my public facing node, "MacbookAir" is my workstation, "NewNode" is my node i have recently configured and the one with the issue presumably. NewNode and MacbookAir are on the

Slow network
Hi, I have problem with a Centos 5.3 computer. The networking is very slow. The networking card is a RealTek 1GigE. I plugged an Ubuntu laptop on the same cable and port with an Intel GigE, and it's about 8 to 10 times faster. So the problem is likely to be with the CentOS config. Any suggestion on how to track down the problem with speed. I have checked the packets with wireshark, no

Desperate question about MPXIO with ZFS-iSCSI
I''m trying to set up a iscsi connection (with MPXIO) between my Vista64 workstation and a ZFS storage machine running OpenSolaris 10 (forget the exact version). On the ZFS machines, I have two NICS. NIC #1 is 192.168.1.102, and NIC #2 is 192.168.2.102. The NICs are connected to two separate switches serving two separate IP spaces. On my Vista64 machine, I also have two NICs connected in

Re: My VMs don't get IP with libvirt and dnsmasq
Hello! Thanks for your answer. Well, I think it has to ask for an IP as I have the same configuration in a different machine (with the same OS) and it works, there I see the DHCP packets and so on, but not here. And yeah, that pepito.conf file exists, this is its content: ##WARNING: THIS IS AN AUTO-GENERATED FILE. CHANGES TO IT ARE LIKELY TO BE ##OVERWRITTEN AND LOST. Changes to this

Re: libvirt/dnsmasq is not adhering to static DHCP assignments
Hi, It looks like that's the issue: # cat /var/lib/libvirt/dnsmasq/osc_mgmt.hostsfile 52:54:00:2c:85:92,192.168.80.1,openstack-controller-00 But it makes me wonder...libvirt should be generating and managing this file right? Do I need to edit this myself or should libvirt be updating this file? If so then why isn't it? On Mon, Oct 30, 2017 at 5:21 AM, Yalan Zhang

Not seeing any more LocalDiscovery broadcasts
Hi, I am playing with LocalDiscovery again and have noticed that I do not see any LocalDiscovery broadcasts anymore. I am using tinc 1.1-pre9 in switch mode and have set LocalDiscovery = yes in tinc.conf. I do not see any broadcasts on any network and I also do not see anything in the debug output. What to do? -nik -- # apt-assassinate --help Usage: apt-assassinate [upstream|maintainer]

LocalDiscovery detecting nodes through tunnel
Hi, I have tried the LocalDiscovery feature of tinc. The problem is that it also sends broadcast probes out the CPN interface *and* detects nodes on the VPN. A connection is then established through the tunnel, which effectively breaks connectivity between the two nodes. I do not think that discovering hosts on the VPN makes sense in any way. How can it be disabled? I could easily netfilter

LocalDiscovery
Hello tinc users! Has anyone been able to get LocalDiscovery to work properly? I'm not quite sure what I need to do other than enable it in tinc.conf, and it doesnt seem to be working. Has anyone else tried it? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: <http://www.tinc-vpn.org/pipermail/tinc/attachments/20160901/5698fc86/attachment.html>

Packet loss with LocalDiscovery
Hi, I believe I have found a bug with regard to the LocalDiscovery feature. This is on tinc-1.1pre7 between two Windows nodes. Steps to reproduce: - Get two nodes talking using LocalDiscovery (e.g. put them on the same LAN behind a NAT with no metaconnection to each other) - Make one ping the other. Expected result: - The two nodes should ping each other without any packet loss, hopefully at

LocalDiscovery flip flopping and network design tips
Can you specify which version of tinc you're using? There are vast differences in the way LocalDiscovery works between 1.0 and 1.1. The former uses broadcast, the latter unicast to explicitly advertised local addresses. You say that tinc_test_1's eth0 interface is configured with 10.240.0.4, and tinc_test_2's eth0 interface is configured with 10.240.0.5. How are the public addresses
