How to use /dev/mapper in virt-manager/libvirt
Hi,
my test host is running Debian/GNU Linux unstable and has virt-manger
0.9.5 and libvirt 1.2.1. I am using encryption and thus have devices
in /dev/mapper that are not LVs, for example called
/dev/mapper/myvirtualdisk.
I'd like to configure libvirt in a way that allows me to directly
assign such devices to a VM. This does not work when I create a
filesystem directory storage pool in

Ok, I follwed the samba diagnostics, I get to TEST 3 and you don't have the
error that came up. My error is can't find \etc\lmhosts.
I tryied to copy my mhosts from mywindows machine, that didn't work.
My main problem is I can see other people on the network but they can't see my
shares. My linux box doesn't even come up on their network neighborhood.
Thanks

Issues with exposing USB serial dongle to guest VM
Hi.
I have Centos 7 (updated) running as my host, and I?m using Qemu and KVM, version 2.0.0 and 2.6.0.
I have a Trendnet TU-S9 USB serial dongle attached to the host, which uses the Prolific 2303 chipset.
I blacklisted the pl2303 driver so the host doesn?t grab the device, and want to expose it to the guest.
On the client, I see 2 USB hubs (3.0 and 2.0), and I see 2 USB endpoints (even though

CentOS 6.6 KVM Windows 7 Pro VM Device USB 04e8:6860
I have a CentOS 6.6 system running KVM with a Win 7 Pro VM. Over the
weekend I was playing around with the VM trying to get it to see my
Samsung Note 4. Apparently I removed the phone without removing the
hardware from the VM. Now the VM will not start because Device USB
0438:6860 is not there. I tried to remove the hardware from the VM using
virt-manager but that does not remove the error

how to automatically maximize the graph window (under XP) ?
Hello,
I'm trying to produce graphs automatically from data stored in database.
Before saving the graphs, I would like to maximize the size of the graphs.
The best would be to directly open maximized windows with x11() but up to
now I failed doing it.
I tried different widths and heighs but I never managed to obtain a full
screen window.
Is there a command to do it ?
Thanks in advance,
Ptit

[PATCH v5 1/2] libxl: Introduce functions to add and remove USB devices to an HVM guest
This patch exposes a generic interface which can be expanded in the
future to implement USB for PVUSB, qemu, and stubdoms. It can also be
extended to include other types of USB other than host USB (for example,
tablets, mice, or keyboards).
For each device removed or added, one of two protocols is available:
* PVUSB
* qemu (DEVICEMODEL)
The caller can additionally specify "AUTO", in

link_to
Im trying to use the link_to helper to open a blank window which is
basically just a framed window to display user info without all the
extra distractions that come along with opening this window. Here is
what I got:

nonlinear least square
Hi to all,
Is there a way we can fit a non linear model to a data using non linear
least square method without necessarily initialising the parameters of the
model. I find it hard to get the initial value of the parameter. Below is a
sample of the code I have.
*nachman<-nls(OARmedium$OCCUPANCY~1exp(-alpha*OARmedium$MEAN^beta),start=list(alpha=0.2,beta=0.1),data=OARmedium)summary(nachman)*

using vmchannel between 6.x host/guests
Hi all. Having trouble figuring out the magic to set up VMChannel comms between EL6.x host/guests. My end goal is to enable fence_virt in the guest to talk to fence_virtd on the host via VMChannel. I'd prefer to use that instead of multicast because it is supposed to work even if networking in the guest is down/borked.
My analysis is that there is a mismatch between what libvirt is feeding

Slider as Scrollbar in a window
Hi,
I ran into deep problems using scrollbar features shown at
http://www.aldenta.com/examples/script.aculo.us/.
The scripts work as expected, but if i use the separate window effect
(based on prototype and script aculo us, too)
shown at
http://prototype-window.xilinus.com
the scrollbar doesn''t work anymore.
I tried and studied the source code for both subprojects but i have

graph dimensions default
Hi,
I would like to (if possible) set the default width and height for graphs
at the start of each session and have each new graphic device overwrite
the previous one.
I only know how to do this using windows(width=,height=...) which opens up
a new plotting device every time, so I end up with lots of graphs all over
the place until I get the one I want!
Thanks in advance,
Simon

I am trying to connect a KVM-QEMU VM to OVS-DPDK vhostuser port. But, I am
encountering a few errors. Since I am very new to libvrt and Linux I am not
able to sort them out. Any guidance in this regard would be a great help.

Marta,
As Alan pointed out the loc->net policy is Continue, it should probably be
loc->net ACCEPT.
This is from Tom''s Shorewall Documentation...
http://www.shorewall.net/Documentation.htm#Policy
CONTINUE - The connection is neither ACCEPTed, DROPped nor REJECTed.
CONTINUE may be used when one or both of the zones named in the entry are
sub-zones of or intersect with another zone.

Problem getting share list from NetApp
We defined a share, sales_cifs_test, on our NetApp server. Note that the
length of the name is longer than 13 characters.
We can see the share with Microsoft Explorer.
We can mount the share from Linux using smbmount.
What we want to do is to get a list of shares from NetApp. The tools
that can do this are the samba programs smbclient and net.
Smbclient will not show names longer than 13
