Samba4: error in schema?
Hi There seems to be a discrepancy in the s4 schema concerning security groups. Domain Users comes with gidNumber: 100. This is however contrary to what the schema allows. You can show this as follows: Create a new group. samba-tool group add mygroup. Use phpldapadmin to add the gidNumber attribute. There is an error because gidNumber is provided by the posixGroup class and that objectclass is

Samba4: Extending the Schema
Hi We are thinking of Developing a corporate Directory application the would pull user information from Samba4 Ad. However for our needs we need some additional User attributes that don't seem to be available as part of the AD-schema, such as "Hire Date" or "Emergancy contact information", so it seems to me that I would need to Extend the Schema to make this user

registry vulnerabilities in R
Kirtland Air Force Base has denied approval for the use of R on its Windows network. Some of their objections seem a bit strange, but some appear to be legitimate. In particular, they have detected registry "vulnerabilities" which are detailed in the attachment. I know nothing about Windows registry vulnerabilities. If any of these issues are legitimate concerns,

SIP Software video client
I haven't the time to test this out, and I've never had any luck with Java apps of any type, but this looks interesting: https://sip-communicator.dev.java.net/ for the truly foolhardy, go right to a browser launch (linux, windows supported): http://clarinet.u-strasbg.fr/sip-communicator/download/webstart/sip-communicator.jnlp I tried with my Mac, and (amazingly!) the application

Samba 4 schema upgrade.
Hello, We achieved our Domain Migration from Windows 2003 R2 server to Samba 4.2.3 (sernet binaries). Now Samba 4 is the only domain controller. When we use ADUC and click on Domain Controllers we have an error. At the same time if we have a look at de syslog messages on the server, we can see "ldb: acl_read: CN=SERVER,OU=Domain Controllers,DC=DOMAIN,DC=com cannot find attr[msDS-isRODC] in

(D)DNS Updates with GNU/Linux clients in a samba 4 AD environment (BIND_DLZ)
Hi ! I bounce on the Mr Sloop's post ([Samba] DDNS / DHCPd && Internal DNS or BIND_DLZ) to ask what's the easiest way to allow Linux clients to update themself their DNS record in the Samba4 AD server (with BIND_DLZ Dns server). It works well with windows clients, but with Linux clients joined to the domain, with a valid Kerberos ticket, the client receive a error

Samba 4 internal DNS and reverse zones
Hi All, I currently have another thread open on squid authentication with Samba 4 and am going to try authenticating against kerberos instead of NTLM. According to the docs for the web filter I'm using, it's essential for Kerberos to be able to resolve reverse DNS so I've spent the last weekend trying to get this working. Various different documents and howtos exist but none of

I've got everything pretty much set up, have attempted to implement a modified version of the script from here: http://blog.michael.kuron-germany.de/2011/02/isc-dhcpd-dynamic-dns-updates-against-secure-microsoft-dns/ but I keep getting a "TKEY is unacceptable" error. I've even attempted to
