ccf(x,y) vs. cor() of x and lagged values of y
Hi I'm computing the correlation between two time-series x_t and y_t-1 (time-series lagged using the lag(y,-1) function) using the cor() function and the returned value is different from the value of ccf() function at the same lag. Any ideas why this is so? Thanks in advance for any hints. Mihnea [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

3.4p1: 'buffer_append_space: alloc 10506240 not supported'
I have been trying to install 3.4p1 on a number of machines. Servers on ia64 Linux, i386 Linux and SPARC Solaris are all working like charms. On the other hand, I am having trouble at least with HPUX 11, DEC OSF 5.1 and Unixware: on all those systems, sshd bails out after authentication with an error in buffer_append_space. Here is the output of sshd -d on the UnixWare machine (uname -a:

drm/nouveau: Checking a kmemdup() call in nouveau_connector_of_detect()
Hello, I tried another script for the semantic patch language out. This source code analysis approach points out that the implementation of the function ?nouveau_connector_of_detect? contains still an unchecked call of the function ?kmemdup?.

[PATCH 05/30] crypto: Use kmemdup rather than duplicating its implementation
kmemdup is introduced to duplicate a region of memory in a neat way. Rather than kmalloc/kzalloc + memset, which the programmer needs to write the size twice (sometimes lead to mistakes), kmemdup improves readability, leads to smaller code and also reduce the chances of mistakes. Suggestion to use kmemdup rather than using kmalloc/kzalloc + memset. Signed-off-by: Fuqian Huang <huangfq.daxian

[PATCH] btrfs: use kmalloc for lzo de/compress buffer
The size of de/compress buffer and LZO1X_MEM_COMPRESS is small enough. Allocating it with kmalloc rather than vmalloc is preferred. [Bug] check return of kmalloc()
Hi, I''ve discovered that some btrfs code doesn''t check whether kmalloc() call succeeded. I poorly understand what this code does and how it can be changed, maybe it would be happy with __GFP_NOFAIL. Also there are BUG_ON() after kmalloc()''s, if they could be changed not to panic it would be great. --- ./fs/btrfs/compression.c 2010-07-06 16:45:48.000000000 +0400 +++
