How to Automate Centos 5.7 CD bare bones build
Does anyone know how to automate a CD Centos 5.7 build.?
1) new bare bones workstation ( PXE enabled)
2) Boot from CD to the boot prompt
3) At the boot: linux ks=http://x.x.x.x/ks/cfg/org/1/label/Centos5.7
The workstation is able to connect to the server and the kick-start works great.!
Question: how can I automate? linux ks=http://x.x.x.x/ks/cfg/org/1/label/Centos5.7 on the CD?

Changed md5sums on a bare-bones install. Logical explanation?
I'm new to this list, so feel free to update me on any rules
that I seem not to be familiar with.
I'm looking at some strange behavior on a _very_ barebones
installation. I'd like to get some feedback on possible
logical explanations.
* What I'm seeing: The md5sum of all of my binaries in
/usr/bin and /usr/sbin are changing exactly one hour
after installation of CentOS-4.3.

Winbind PAM RHEL
HI,
on debian i use pam winbind by adding
the file /usr/share/pam-configs/winbind and enable this.
Is there another way on RHEL? i have configure RHEL that wbinfo -u gives me the users and getent passwd also.
id <username> is not possible. It tells me user unknown.
With authconfig i have enable winbind for authentication.
Im Using RHEL6 and Samba 4.4.9
Best wishes

Trouble adding a service principal to keytab
Hi,
I am new to samba and Kerberos so please be gentle!
I have built a samba AD DC (v4.3.5) on Centos Linux from source and am
trying to add a service principal and generate a keytab containing the
principal. However the principal entry does not appear in the keytab.
Here's what I did:
[root at bones ~]# samba-tool spn add

OT: vmware server not accepting root password?
Sorry for the OT question; I'm hoping someone else has a similar setup
and ran into this same problem?
For some reason, not sure what I changed, my vmware server is no
longer accepting the root login for the management console or web mui
interface. I'm certain the password is correct, and I've even reset
root's password to make sure. VMware seems to be running ok, I can

Samba firts DC fail over
Just a thought if the client machines are still getting a listing in the
DNS for the failed machines wouldn't this be a problem? How would the
programs know not to use the failed server? Is there a way to temporarily
move the failed machines out of dns listings?

(no subject)
hi,?
I'm working on a research project where we're looking at the changing resonances in femur bones during hip replacement operations. basically, I've got a spreadsheet with one column listing frequencies in 5Hz bands and 3 columns showing the amplitude of that frequency when the bone is loose, medium to tight (referring to the tension of the reamer/chisel creating a cavity for the

Depot example doesn''t work on my pc
Hi everyone,
I wrote a post last week, but unfortunatly I had no time to try.
First of all I''d like to thank you, for every your answer, and
then I''m sorry for the late of my answer. I REALLY appreciated them.
So I did as you told me, but this problem is still on.
First of all, I changed the server script file as you told me, so I

configure issue (ac_cv_lib_inet_connect) on DYNIX/ptx
Greetings -
In trying to get rsync-2.5.6pre1 working on DYNIX/ptx, I found I
needed to pass ac_cv_lib_inet_connect=no to configure in order for
it actually create a properly configured config.h file.
I think this is because configure looks for connect in libinet,
(and finds one there somehow). But connect() is resolved by libsocket
(but configure doesn't find it when

etherchannel/port group/bonding plus vlan works well
I figured I should post this because before I went to do it I searched
the web for caveats etc and didn''t really find much. So anyway, I set
up bonding + vlan for a project. Computer is dell powerdge 350 with 2
intel 82559 10/100 nic running stock 2.4.20. I tried both the eepro100
and the e100 drivers for the nics, both work 802.1q and bonding are modules.
Switch is cisco 2924xl-en

[LLVMdev] LLVM 2.3 available as a VMware appliance
Hi!
Would there be any interest in distributing a VMware installation of LLVM
2.3 via llvm.org
I've created a VMware appliance that uses Ubunutu 8.04 and has LLVM2.3
installed. With a VMware appliance, one could start using the LLVM suite
immediately.
All that is need is the appliance and VMware player.
If there is interest in this appliance, I'm willing to do this for each
release.

Wow. It's perhaps too much of a distraction, but I'm curious about the
details of this. It's probably because

[LLVMdev] VMware LLVM 2.3 appliance update
Thanks Overmind!
I had forgotten about the VMware Appliance Page, which has an area for
'community' appliances.
I'll work on getting it there. I'll post here again when the appliance is
available.

OT: (a) Biostar or MSI mainboard? (b) all Celeron CPU's OK?
(a) Mark (mhr) suggested I buy a bare bones box, when I reported the
problem with the mainboard in this Dell Dimension 2400 box. Possibly I
can have the mainboard repaired (and the PSU, if it is also having
problems), and if so, I will give this one to my Stepson and go the
bare bones box route and have a more powerful box for myself. I looked
at two (2) very low end Desktop mainboards in the

true, i did not say how i created cd's.
i used k3b as it is easier, less to remember, than using command line.
usb's sticks were created using unetbootin and fedora-liveusb-creator.
yes, i did not mention that i tried with 2 usb sticks. failure was
same, did not feel it mattered. failure is
