Redhat Linux and Samba crashing
Hi Folks,
A while back I sent a asked a question about Running the Quakeworld
server and samba together under Redhat Linux 4.2. I was experiencing
complete system lock ups.
Anyway, I think I have narrowed the problem down. It's nothing to do
with the Quakeworld server though.
I can reliably (!?) make my Redhat Linux system crash (totally seize up)
by running this simple batch file below on

I tried something similar and ended up with a similar error. As far as I
understand the documentation the answer in your case is "5".

Confused about "Authentication Mechanism" and "Password Schemes"
Hi,
I am currently setting up a Mailserver and decided to use Dovecot as
IMAP/POP3-Server. I read the wiki an thought about how to transmit and
store the passwords (I want to use a MySQL-database).
I want to use encrypted transmission and encrypted storage. The wiki says:
"If you want to use only one non-plaintext mechanism, you can store the
passwords using the mechanism's own

Samba 4 on AIX with XLC
Has anyone tried building Samba 4.0 on AIX with XLC?
I'm moving right along, but tripping up on some bugs in source3/utils/net_rpc.c, source3/utils/net_rpc_printer.c, and source3/utils/net_cache.c where there is an invalid use of the ":" operator. According to some other posts on the PostgreSQL forum, this shouldn't compile anywhere, even though GCC apparently allows it??

Variance explained in regression trees?
I apologize for what may be novice questions but I am new to program R and
need a bit of assistance. I am using R to create regression trees to explain
how various environmental predictors influence coastal dune loss as a result
of hurricane activity.
First question is as follows; how do I interpret the complexity plots that
the rpart package will produce. What do the X and Y axis represent

RE: XEN limit
Hi all,
Simple question, is there any limitations on XEN in terms of number of CPU sockets, cores, and memory ? For example HyperV has a limitation of 16 cores.
Many thanks
Konrad

RE: RedHat DomU hanging

Maybe someone can help me.... I have a guest XEN image that ran well until today. I use an LVM partition to host the guest and today on Dom0 I added another LVM to be available to this domU.
This were all the commands I issued :
On hypervisor
lvcreate -n lintra02data -L 30G rootvg
vi /etc/xen/lintra02 and add volume to file like this :

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list.
I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without
modifications.
How did I try it?
Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock )
Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a
rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee
prep-out.log
The build failed at the end:
