Error with epiR and sensitivity
Hi everyone,
I emailed yesterday thinking I had a problem with reading matrix
information as numerical output into epiR. After working on the data
frame today, I realise it's a problem with the data itself rather than
the syntax.
An original data frame of

latin hypercube sampling
Hi all,
I am attempting to use latin hypercube sampling to sample different
variable functions in a series of simultaneous differential equations.
There is very little code online about lhs or clhs, so from different
other help threads I have seen, it seems I need to create a
probability density function for each variable function, and then use
latin hypercube sampling on this pdf.
So far, I

SUCCESS: OpenSSH_6.7p1-snap20150220
Compiled OK, and operating nicely on CentOS 6.6, both 32/64 bit.
Really appreciate the UpdateHostkeys feature!
One issue I noticed, the screen output gets garbled if the user has been "asked" to "Accept" the new hostkeys.
Looks like the screen output is missing the CR's, and only LF's get presented.

RV: problems checking a package
Dear R-listers,
I have a very strange problem. I made a package (under Windows and
Linux). The package passed the R CMD Check without problem. Then, I
installed the package and executed a function which calls to a 'dll'

NEW release of FRAILTYPACK
Dear All,
We are happy to announce, after a long gestation, the release of the new
version of FRAILTYPACK (version 2.2-9.5) which is now available from
CRAN. The package fit general frailty models using penalized likelihood
estimation, for clustered or recurrent events.

ZFS Boot Won''t work with a straight or mirror zfsroot
Using build 70, I followed the zfsboot instructions at http://
www.opensolaris.org/os/community/zfs/boot/zfsboot-manual/ to the
letter.
I tried first with a mirror zfsroot, when I try to boot to zfsboot
the screen is flooded with "init(1M) exited on fatal signal 9"
Than I tried with a simple zfs pool (not mirrored) and it just
reboots right away.
If I try to setup grub

and then i have to close R.
what is the problem and how can i solve it?

Error in Surv(time, status) : Time variable is not numeric
Dear,
I want to analyze two-level survival data using a shared frailty model, for
which I want to use the R package 'Frailtypack", proposed by Rondeau et al.
The dataset was built using SAS software. I also tried to change the format
using SPSS and Excell.
My (reduced) dataset has following column names:
ID entry time status family var1
I used following command:

Error in f(x, ...) : subscript out of bounds
R-Listers:
I am doing a quasi-maximum likelihood estimation and I get a "subscript
out of bound" error message, Typically I would think this means that a
subscript used in the function is literally out of bounds however I don't
think this is the case. All I change in the code is a constant, that is
hard-wired in (not data dependent and not parameter dependent),

partial rank correlation coefficient
Hi All,
a colleague asked me if R has a function producing a Partial Rank
Correlation Coefficient, sensu Blower and Dowlatabadi 1994 [1].
I personally would not have a clue, and I could not find something like
that on the search page... although I would not be surprised if it's
there under a different name.
Incidentally, unfortunately the function, assuming it exists, is to be
fed to some

SECURITY: vulnerability in sperl
Red Hat Software has been notified of a critical security problem (a buffer
overrun) in /usr/bin/sperl*. As no official fix for this problem exists,
we recommend turning off the setuid bit on /usr/bin/sperl*. As far as
we know, this problem affects all platforms and all versions.
As soon as a fix is available we will release a new version of the perl
package and announce it here. If no fix seems

recurrent events
Hello,
I have a cohort with approx 1,200 patients at the ages of 30-65 that had
their first myocardial infarction during 1992:
· They were in a follow up until 2005.
· About 400 of them died during this period of time (right censored)
· Each one of them had up to 4 mi recurrent events.
I am using the semi-parametric model in order to assess the relationship of

Global sensitivity indices using sensitivity package: sobol, sobol2002
Dear R users,
I have been trying to estimate global sensitivity indices such as the sobol
1st and 2nd order indices. I managed to obtain the PRCC.
The example presented in the sensitivity package on sobol2002 seems to work
well for linear models: for example: calculate y for given x values.
However, when trying to apply this technique to dynamic models (SIR type),
the error messages just keep

Maximum likelihood estimate of bivariate vonmises-weibulldistribution
Thanks Dimitris!!! That's much clearer now. Still have a lot of work to
do this weekend to understand every bit but your code will prove very
useful.
Cheers,
Aziz

[PATCH 0/7] I/O bandwidth controller and BIO tracking
Hi everyone,
This series of patches of dm-ioband now includes "The bio tracking mechanism,"
which has been posted individually to this mailing list.
This makes it easy for anybody to control the I/O bandwidth even when
the I/O is one of delayed-write requests.
Have fun!
This series of patches consists of two parts:
1. dm-ioband
