OSX is substantially different from FreeBSD (even without netinfo)
despite having some of the same source code. I doubt you'll find

openssldoesn't -overwrite-base again (was: FreeBSD-SA-08:05.openssh)
I'd like to thank the openssh-portable port maintainer/s for
preserving the -overwrite-base option. This eases our systems and
security update jobs measurably.
Unfortunately, openSSL has dropped the -overwrite-base option
(again), leaving us with two versions of openssl and some
confusion over A) which version of openssl a new port or upgrade
(i.e., openssh) will use, and B) how to update

Problems building 4.8 STABLE
I tried rebuilding yesterday. It failed [I don't recall the
output].
I then completely deleted the /usr/src and /usr/obj, and cvsuped
again last night [Approx 7PM on 2003-06-23]. I set the machine
up with a buildworld and went to bed.
This am I looked at the nohup.out file that was generated and it

I took out the NOMAN=false in /etc/make.conf - as it appeared

Vitelity seems to be offline to both IP and voice traffic. Is there any
place to find out what their status is?

vTPM-Manager
Hi List,
I have a problem installing the vTPM extension for Xen.
I selected the option vTPM Manager (=y) in the Config.mk before
compiling the xen-tools, but there is always the same error in every xen
version which I have tried:
gcc -Werror -g3 -I. -D_GNU_SOURCE
-DLOGGING_MODULES="(BITMASK(VTPM_LOG_TCS)|BITMASK(VTPM_LOG_VTSP)|BITMASK(VTPM_LOG_VTPM))"

Need Help with Fence_xvm
Dear Xen Users,
I am new to this technology and I''ve been reading all over the places about how to setup a cluster infrasctructre using Xen DOM0 and Xen DOMu Domains.
So far I have quite a few parts running (cluster) but I am trying to add a (virtual) fencing method. I have read that I can use (Virtual Fencing) using the fence_xvmd-fence_xvm deamon and agents; that will allow me to

rate limiting sshd connections ?
Does anyone know of a way to rate limit ssh connections from an IP address
? We are starting to see more and more brute force attempts to guess
simple passwords "/usr/sbin/inetd -wWl -C 10" is nice for slowing down
attempts to services launched via inetd. Is there an equiv method for
doing this to sshd? Running from inetd has some issues supposedly.

DNS probe sources
These source addresses are likely spoofed, but am still curious whether
other FreeBSD admins saw a preponderance of DNS probes originating from
Microsoft corp subnets ahead of the recent ISC bind vulnerability
announcement?

Is log_in_vain really good or really bad?
Heya..
Yesterday someone "attacked" by box by connection to several ports.. In
other words, a simple portscan.. yet, since my box has "log_in_vain"
enabled, so it tries to log everything to /var/log/messages, since the
logfile got full and the size went over 100K, it tried to rotate the log
to save diskspace.
