Hi, Thank you for your work on this card! I have quite a few boxes that run various 3wares cards with diverse firmware revs. Are there any caveats with respect to models and firmware versions in terms of how they might interact ? ---Mike At 01:25 PM 10/08/2003 -0700, Paul Saab wrote: >ps 2003/08/10 13:25:46 PDT > > FreeBSD src repository > >

state of ide raid
Hello, While shopping for another 3Ware card, I found that this market has gotten much larger since I bought my 6500. So I started looking at the various cards while browsing the hardware notes for FreeBSD 4.8 and 5.1. So I'm wondering if anyone can provide some insight here. -3Ware has a whole new series of cards. The twe(4) manpage states that only 5xxx and 6xxx series cards are

INETD Question.
I'm currently running version 2.0.7 of samba(CIFS9000). I have HPUX 11.x installed on the samba server. When I try to run this from inetd it doesn't work. I can run a startup script that runs the smbd as a daemon and it works fine. But if I try to run it from inetd it won't start. The previous version of Samba 1.9.18p10 that I had on this server worked fine. Is this a bug in

smartd and 3ware on centos5
Hi, I've CentOS5 box with 3ware RAID controller in it. I can't get the tw_cli command line tool to work, and smartd also barks on me. The tw_cli simply doesn't see the controller, no errors logged anywhere. When starting smartd, it is much more verbose. I'm getting a bunch of messages like this: Oct 9 22:15:15 toporko kernel: program smartd is using a deprecated SCSI ioctl,

FreeBSD 6.0 panics - sbdrop
Hi, I've encountered a strange problem while using FreeBSD 6.0 for our local mirror (mirror.math.uni-bielefeld.de) and thus is providing access via ftp, http, rsync and cvsup (all local and remote). The system crashes periodically with a kernel panic (panic: sbdrop). The uptimes between two crashes are going from a few hours to a few weeks. The system is a i386, Intel Pentium 4 based with

Samba and XP - Updated Registry - Still no go
One user on our church network is using XP Home Edition. I updated the registry as I have seen posted on various sites. He is still not able to connect. I have the feeling it is because he has joined a "workgroup" and not a "domain". I am able to change the workgroup name but I can't seem to figure out how to join a domain instead. Is there a restriction that the

FreeBSD source auto patcher script
Hi all I thought I would let you people know of a script that I coded that facilitates security patch updating on FreeBSD. When I wrote it I decided to called it Quickpatch for some reason even though because its source based its not necessarily the least bit quick at all :) I had kept it for my self for a while but I was recently provoked to release it as it could do greater good being out

Printing woes
Hi, I've been using Samba for a while, and I'm now running all network printing here from Samba. However, while printing itself works fine, my users can neither view the print queue, nor delete jobs from it, and this is beginning to get annoying. I'm using LPRng to do all the printing. All the clients are NT4 workstations. Here's some selected bits of /etc/smb.conf and

panic with today's stable
Did cvsup on a machine that does just mail processing (well, a lot of spam scanning) and it crashed not too much later. This kernel does not include MFC src/sys/kern/sys_process.c revisions 1.111 and 1.112: Use kmem_alloc_nofault() rather than kmem_alloc_pageable() in procfs_rwmem(). Use vm_page_hold() in place of vm_page_wire() since the page can be freed. Don't hold extra

[LLVMdev] Non-portable use time command in RunSafely.sh
If you look at http://npt.cc.rsu.ru/testresults-X86-FreeBSD/index.html then you see that all program test have '*' in run time columns. I think problem in using plain 'time' command in RunSafely.sh At FreeBSD 'time <program> <args>' call generate output in format " 0,00 real 0,00 user 0,00 sys" for *.time files instead expected

Automatically mount at boot
My ocfs filesystems used to mount automatically at boot, but now I've noticed that I have to do a mount -a after the boot up is completed to mount them. I've checked the init state to see that ocfs is enabled at run levels 3, 4, & 5 # chkconfig --list ocfs ocfs 0:off 1:off 2:off 3:on 4:on 5:on 6:off Nothing shows up in the /var/log/messages file that would
