How to plot multiple time series with different time base in same plot?
Hi I have to time series with a different time base. The first has only sporadic datapoints: 2011-02-01 15.29130 2011-02-08 17.60278 2011-02-15 17.99737 2011-02-22 25.43690 The other has a daily datapoint: 2011-02-01 342.34 2011-02-02 68.45 2011-02-03 130.47 2011-02-04 129.86 2011-02-05 81.98 2011-02-06 77.30 2011-02-07 81.38 2011-02-08 139.95 2011-02-09 124.40 ...etc. In Excel, it is fairly

Does R have an equivalent for Matlab's cell array?
Hi I have a time series of measurements: every 10 min. a value was logged. The data look like: 20100914 08:01 3.74 20100914 08:11 3.74 20100914 08:21 3.71 20100914 08:31 4.39 20100914 08:41 3.74 This data spans several months. I would like to group the data per day. In Matlab it is fairly easy to obtain a cell array, of which the first column contains the date of each

No more sessions available' / channels not closing issue
Hi all, We've run into a curious issue. We run CentOS 6.5 with openssh installed (OpenSSH_5.3p1, OpenSSL 1.0.1e-fips 11 Feb 2013 by default). We connect to this server through sftp (Subsystem sftp internal-sftp) using the java JSch library. When opening many sftp channels on a single ssh session OpenSsh does not seem to release the sftp channels closed from the client side when there are

Local disk to disk Rsync taking an hour longer than disk to remote
Back in June I posted about the trouble I've been having backing up some local directories and I'm no further ahead than back then. Link for that discussion: http://lists.samba.org/archive/rsync/2007-June/017882.html In summary: I'm copying nearly a million small files from the main disk in a server to another disk in the same machine. Still on this server, but at a different time,

lvm cache + qemu-kvm stops working after about 20GB of writes
Hello, I would really appreciate some help/guidance with this problem. First of all sorry for the long message. I would file a bug, but do not know if it is my fault, dm-cache, qemu or (probably) a combination of both. And i can imagine some of you have this setup up and running without problems (or maybe you think it works, just like i did, but it does not): PROBLEM LVM cache writeback

[LLVMdev] Clang/llvm performance tests on FreeBSD 10.0-CURRENT
Hi all, I recently performed a series of compiler performance tests on FreeBSD 10.0-CURRENT, particularly comparing gcc 4.2.1 and gcc 4.7.1 against clang 3.1 and clang 3.2. The attached text file[1] contains more information about the tests, some semi-cooked performance data, and my conclusions. Any errors and omissions are also my fault, so if you notice them, please let me know. The

lvm cache + qemu-kvm stops working after about 20GB of writes
Hello everyone, Anybody had the chance to test out this setup and reproduce the problem? I assumed it would be something that's used often these days and a solution would benefit a lot of users.
