HP Proliant DL360 G7
Hello,
Has anyone out there been able to qualify the Proliant DL360 G7 for your Solaris/OI/Nexenta environments? Any pros/cons/gotchas (vs. previous generation HP servers) would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Form Feed on RAW printer
Hi all.
On CentOS 4 I was able to set a text only printer and send raw data and
form feed on the end. Now on CentOS 5/6 I only have the option to set it
RAW or text only but not the previous mix.
How I can get it to work the same way? In most cases we use 5.x.
Thanks

HP proliant bl460c G7 on CentOS
Hi list,
I have installed CentOS on an hp proliant blade server, bl 460c g7, after
installing I've seen that network is not working properly. It recognises
around 8 interfaces (?), mii-tool says that there is not any link present
on those, and there's only 2 NIC' per bay.
I've searched on Hp support page but there's only one driver for storage.
Does anybody has had the same

Kernel Panic on HP/Compaq ProLiant G7
Hello Everyone,
I recently installed CentOS 5.5 x86_64 on a brand new ProLiant DL380 G7. I have identical OS software running reock-solid on two other DL380 ProLiant servers, but they are G6 models, not G7. On the G7, the installation went perfectly and the machine ran great for about 2 weeks, when it just seemed to "stop". The system stopped responding on the network, and there was

RAID on HP ML110 G5
I would like to run FreeBSD 7 on a HP ML110 G5. I understand from past posts
to this list that the ML110 series is FreeBSD friendly, but what about RAID 1
using the on-board SATA controller? Will this work and how do you set this
up?

HP ProLiant DL380 G5
I have CentOS 6.x installed on a "HP ProLiant DL380 G5" server. It
has eight 750GB drives in a hardware RAID6 array. Its acting as a
host for a number of OpenVZ containers.
Seems like every time I reboot this server which is not very often it
sits for hours running a disk check or something on boot. The server
is located 200+ miles away so its not very convenient to look at. Is

Change in package.skeleton behavior from R 3.6.3 to R 4.0.0 ?
The Rcpp package and some related packages such as RcppArmadillo make use of
(local) wrappers around the utils::package.skeleton() function for creating
(basic yet functional) packages using Rcpp or RcppArmadillo. RStudio also
exposes this under the graphical menu as a nice way to construct a package.
But it seems that something changed quite recently in R. I looked into this a
little yesterday

use Debian 6.0 with a XEN Kernel. Every time when I start a DomU, the
server makes a hard reset without any kernel panic or output.

ZFS Appliance as a general-purpose server question
A customer is looking to replace or augment their Sun Thumper
with a ZFS appliance like 7320. However, the Thumper was used
not only as a protocol storage server (home dirs, files, backups
over NFS/CIFS/Rsync), but also as a general-purpose server with
unpredictably-big-data programs running directly on it (such as
corporate databases, Alfresco for intellectual document storage,
etc.) in order to

[OT] Leveno HDD caddies
This is very off topic but, I have no idea where else to ask. We obtained
some used Leveno CTO7483 desktop units for experimentation. I had intended to
install CentOS-7 on one of them. As they arrived with a vendor upgraded
Windows 7ProSP1 install without media I decided to pull the disk drive and
install onto a spare drive that I installed.
Those of you with any experience with this model
