New DNS server up and running
A new and improved instance of onlo.htt-consult.com is up and providing DNS service. It is my 1st Centos 6.3 production box. This is Phase I which included IPv6 working 'right'. Phase II will be to sign my zone and get fully with DNSSEC. I want to thank people here in answering my questions. Now on to other projects. I have a couple dozen to tackle.

Natulius CD burner does not accept my 700Mb CD-R disks
When I try to burn anything to cd, I get a message to insert a CD large enough for my file (normally an ISO image). Doesn't matter if the iso image is a 600Mb Centos ISO or a 48Mb DSL ISO. Same warning. My CD-Rs are Memorex 700MB/80min 52x disks that work just fine on XP systems. So what am I missing configuration-wise?

disabling lame server logging
Continuing to 'clean up' my new server by reviewing logged messages. Researching a common one: Feb 26 07:30:29 onlo named[19336]: error (unexpected RCODE SERVFAIL) resolving 'foo.com/MX/IN': 1.2.3.4#53 I get the drift that my server has been directed to a 'lame server' and logs that fact. Supposedly I am to lookup the SOA record and contact the admin to fix this.

Migrating from CourierMail to Dovecot
My current mail server is a Fedora12 system running postfix/mysql/couriermail/squirrelmail mix. My new server is a Centos6 running postfix/mysql/postfixadmin/dovecot/roundcube mix. I have 4 virtual domains and about 20 users; not a big setup by any measure. Both servers have the same host name, but are currently on separate subnets. My current plan is to stop services on the old server,

Unless you're doing something unsual, why not just run a second DC with it's own DNS server and let Samba handle it? You

New server is not discovering USB drive attachment
Just built a Centos 5 system last night that will be a NAS server. I have a bunch of notebook drives with information I want to populate the NAS with. I am logged in as root. I plug in the USB notebook drive device and nothing. My notebook has no trouble with this device. Obliviously I missed something in the install. autofs is reported as running, so not that.

Maybe working - Re: BIND DLZ zone transfers
Hi Robert, yes it does work. But the DLZ bind will not notify any slaves, when the repository changes. This can be painful, especially for longer TTL values. Regards, - lars. Roundcubemail problem with Dovecot
I am getting "Connection to storage server failed." in roundcubemail. On doing a google search If find: http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=473 Which puts the problem at dovecot. I did get a dovecot update back on 3-5 and that would match to my one roundcube mail user complaining and the delays I am seeing with thunderbird and outlook users. So with my setup, I am trying to

More on bind_dlz - documentation I have not found
In the shower this morning, I realized that samba's dlz is through its ldap interface, probably through dhcp. :) All of that work researching how to set up a dlz database for naught. This is NOT documented in either: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/DNS or https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Configure_BIND_as_backend_for_Samba_AD I have not yet checked any ldap documentation on the wiki to
