I can almost feel Civilization 3 running
But not quite. If I could just get past the sound, I think it might
start and run.
I'm running Wine in desktop display mode, emulating win98. comdlg32,
shell32, shlwapi, and '*' are set to "native, builtin" while the rest of
the DLLs that the default installation names are builtin, native.
I've tried running it with 'winedbg --gdb civilization3', and it always

Data corruption
We used rsync 2.6.3 on a couple of Solaris 8 machines to update an Oracle
database from one machine to another. Here is the procedure I used:
The source database was up and running so this operation was similar to doing a
hot backup. I queried the source database for a list of tablespace names, and
for each tablespace, I queried the list of datafiles. I put the tablespace in
hot backup mode,

Setting library path (again)
Hi,
Sorry for posting a question that has been asked before but I couldn't
quite find the right answer in previous help topics.
I am trying to set my library path to a user-specified library
("C:/Users/K/Documents/Work/RLib"). I have used
.libPaths("C:/Users/K/Documents/Work/RLib") but when I check the
.libPaths(), both the user-specified and default libraries appear. It

Browser inconsistencies when using Effect.MoveBy()
Hi all!
Brief intro: my name is Cam McVey and I'm a web developer in Glasgow, Scotland.
Now to the point of my first message. I'm trying to use
Effect.MoveBy() to horizontally scroll a table 'underneath' a div. The
idea is that the div is a 'viewer' -- a window that the table can be
seen through. The code below works great with Firefox but not in IE 6
where, after calling

retr errors
My ISP uses Dovecot and I have had an ongoing problem
for a while using several email clients.
Sometimes the response to a retr request is mal-formed. The expected
response
"+OK nnn octets" is not returned. The response looks like it
started somewhere in the message headers.
Sometimes a retry can clear the
problem but I usually need to delete the first message via a putty session.

Dear R,
I would like to report what I think is a bug in R. I am running R
within emacs on a Digital AlphaStation. See the version information
at the end of my R session for details. I also attach a copy of the
file that is read in the `read.table' command.
Here's my R session, with a few

Colour depth reduced to 12 by bitmap devices
I am using R to create colour plots as bitmap files. I have created a
palette of 256 colours that I want to use, but the resultant output
files contain only 12 colours used in dither patterns. The result is the
same whether I use bmp() or png().
How can I get the true colours that I specified instead of dither
patterns? (making the driver's job easier!)
I am using R 1.1.0 for Windows

[LLVMdev] Problem using a label to a MachineBasicBlock
Hi all,
I think that I came somewhat closer to a solution for splitting a
MachineBasicBlock for a PSEUDO_CALL_R instruction and having a label to the new MBB:
For following piece of code:
---
typedef int callme_t(int a, int b);
callme_t* c01;
int foo(int a, int b)
{
return c01(a,b); // MachineBasicBlock will be split at call instruction
}
---
I have initially following correspondence:

Wine and Kaleidagraph
Hi.
I am a recently debian user that don't know much about linux, but I work
hard :).
I was boring about MsWindows and I've decided to change, but I have to
work with some Windows programs.
Really I have a problem: I must use kaleidagraph in my work,I've seen
that this program is available in the Programs database, so I've
installed and upgraded my Wine.
After that I have

Some notes on using QMP to hot plug disks
I was hoping that we could use QMP (now semi-stable since qemu 0.14)
to hot plug disks.
Unfortunately this is not yet possible. There is no drive_add QMP
command which would be necessary for adding drives. We (Red Hat)
hacked in a drive_add command into RHEL 6 (only for use by libvirt).
This doesn't help us with upstream or Fedora. We could still use the
human monitor, but obviously this

Controlling values in read.table
I have this code:
list1 <- list()
for (i in list.files(pattern=".*c02.*AFDH0.*")){
x <- read.table(i,skip=20,fill=TRUE)
list1[[i]] <- x
}
Somehow I would like the read.table function to read only values in each
file that are over a certain limit, say >1. Is this the easiest way or is it
better to tamper with 'list1' when it's done?
