BCMXCP UPS driver 0.24 (2.6.1) Hangs
List:
I have an Eaton (Powerware) Model 5115 and am using the bcmxcp_usb driver
on a OpenBSD 4.9 system. The upsdrvctl start appears to work and I get a
message in my daemon log stating that it successfully started. I can
successfully start the upsd daemon. I get a successful start messaage from
the upsmon program, but it soon complains of 'stale' data. It looks like

Getting 'Data stale' error with bcmxcp_usb for a PowerWare 5115 on OSX
Good evening,
I tried getting this to work a couple years back but didn't have
enough time to do all the debugging that was needed (apologies
to the devs who tried to help at that time). It's working much
better now, but I'm still not able to get an answer from upsc.
Can anyone help me work out why I'm getting the error when
querying with upsc:

bcmxcp_usb can not communicate with Eaton Powerware 5110
Hi,
I have set up a RaspberryPi computer to do monitoring of two UPSs. One
is an MGE evolution 800, one is an Eaton Powerware 5110. The MGE was
being monitored by another Linux (Ubuntu 12.04) computer, and I just
copied and pasted in the relevant nut config and it works just fine with
nut.
I've tried to set up the Powerware 5110 with nut, and the bcmxcp_usb
driver can't communicate

Eaton PW5110 + nut-2.4.1 + OpenBSD
Hello,
I 'm trying to set up an Eaton PW5110 using nut-2.4.1 in OpenBSD, my
ups.conf follows :
[myups]
driver = bcmxcp_usb
port = auto
desc = "Eaton PW 5110 (1500VA)"
My first attempt to run upsdrvctl ended up complaining about unimplemented
usb_clear_halt() in libusb. I patched libusb-0.1.12 with the following
patch :

bcmxcp: stop whining (and log spamming)
corrupted checksums happen all the time with the 6-port serial card,
even when only using one port (and I don't give a shit about the other
ports, if anybody has a one-port laying around...)
so stop whining already.

As a quick followup, the Prestige (both FW 2.13 and 3.09 - 2.x is
pre-Eaton, 3.x post) reply to the topology block query thus:

How to deploy rails apps from a VM Ware Virtual Machine?
Has anyone had any luck deploying rails apps in a Linux VM image on a
production MS Server 2003 with IIS ?
If so which image did you use a a base?
I am currently using a Gentoo image and have installed ruby and rails but
after performing a rails testapp and running webrick with ruby
script/server I get a page timeout when trying to visit http://0.0.0.0:3000or

To calculate sample size based on generalized wilcoxon test or Tarone-Ware test
Dear all,
I am trying to calculate sample size for a clinical research, on the basis
of generalized wilcoxon test or Tarone-Ware test.
It seems SAS can do this job using it "POWER" procedure, but SAS is not
available to me.
I would be very grateful if you could let me know if any R package or other
tools which could cope with this problem.
Best Regards,
Wang

Fixed vs. Floating Point primer. was: Implementing Vorbis in hard ware
Let me chime in with a few facts regarding DSPs. It may be review to anyone
who has programmed DSPs, but some may find it informative.
Fixed-Point vs. Floating Point DSP chips
Floating Point DSPs make the best/easiest compiler targets. Most of the
standard operations present in ANSI C translate fairly well into floating
point DSP assembly. This reduces the need for assembly

gcc4 noise
Is anyone besides me using gcc 4.*.*? I noticed that NUT generates an
enormous amount of warning noise with that compiler, mostly due to
implicit casts between signed/unsigned pointer types. Any volunteers
to de-noise the code a bit? The easy way is to insert typecasts; the
better way is to actually take care about signedness. -- Peter

Powerware (Eaton) Prestige 9 UPS
I noted some correspondence from several years back about supporting
this device with bcmxcp, and the problems therein. Since I have one of
these UPS units, still going strong, and the Eaton LanSafe stuff has
finally caused me enough grief to abandon it, I figured I'd take a look
at this.
The issue is not that bad - the bcmxcp driver query of the topology
block (2 bytes!) is returning

(no subject)-about the waring/errors in ks.test
[In future, please press reply all as there might be others in the
mailing list who can help you]
Without a (short) reproducible example, it would be difficult to say.
BTW, I think you have mistyped the error/warning message. Does it
actually say "cannot compute _correct_ p-value" or "cannot compute
_exact_ p-value". See example below.
