Cannot send after transport endpoint shutdown (-108)
This morning I''ve had both my infiniband and tcp lustre clients hiccup. They are evicted from the server presumably as a result of their high load and consequent timeouts. My question is- why don''t the clients re-connect. The infiniband and tcp clients both give the following message when I type "df" - Cannot send after transport endpoint shutdown (-108). I''ve

Link files showing on mount point, 3.3.1
Can anyone tell me how to fix having link files show on the client mount point. This started after an upgrade to 3.3.1 file name and user and group info have been changed, but this is the basic problem. There are about 5 files in just this directory, and I am sure there are more directories with this issue. -rw-r--r-- 1 user group 29120 Aug 17 2010 file1 ---------T 1 root root 0

question about list directory missing files or hang
Hi Gluster experts, I'm new to glusterfs and I have encountered a problem about list directory of glusters 3.3. I have a volume configuration of 3(distribute) * 2(replica). When write file on the glusterfs client mount directory some of the files can't be listed through ls command but the file exists. Some times the ls command hangs. Any one know what's the problem is? Thank you

lustre quota problems
Hello, I''ve several problems with quota on our testcluster: When I set the quota for a person to a given value (e.g. the values which are provided in the operations manual), I''m able to write exact the amount which is set with setquota. But when I delete the files(file) I''m not able to use this space again. Here is what I''ve done in detail: lfs checkquota

Windows 7 Clients Slow/Unresponsive with some file types
I am having some unresponsive and very slow performance with a couple of different file types with Samba and Windows 7 clients. The problems manifest in the following manners: IGES files, these are CAD files. When opening up certain IGES files from the server, the application can take upwards of 10 minutes to open up the file. If I copy the same file from the server to the desktop, the

Subsetting a data.frame degenerates at one column?
Greetings. At the moment, I'm applying R to some AIX 'nmon' output, trying to get a handle on some disk performance metrics. In case anyone's interested: http://docs.osg.ufl.edu/tsm/pdf/ some of them are more edifying than others. (ahem) I'm trying to develop a somewhat general framework for plotting these measures, in the hopes that it's of some use to people other

kernel-2.6.18-8.1.14 + lustre 1.6.4.2 + OFED 1.2
We seemed to have it a stumbling block when building with the above (supported) versions. Our process... 1. Start with stock rhel5 2.6.18-8.1.14 source tree 2. Configure InfiniBand support out of the the kernel (we will build OFED separately). 3. Apply the 1.6.4.2 kernel patches to the kernel source. 4. Build the kernel. 5. Build OFED 1.2 against the patched kernel 6. Build Lustre using

[LLVMdev] configuring LLVM 2.6 for OSX 10.4sdk on OSX 10.5 system
Hi all, (Sorry if the answer to this is obvious - and thanks in advance~) Short version: linker error of _backtrace from LLVMSystem.a building a dynamic library embedding LLVM/clang, both against the OSX 10.4 sdk. Long version: I've just tried rebuilding my project using the 2.6 release, using the following commands to try and force LLVM to build against the OSX 10.4 sdk (I am

cluster.min-free-disk not working
Further to my last email, I've been trying to find out why GlusterFS is favouring one brick over another. In pretty much all of my tests gluster is favouring the MOST full brick to write to. This is not a good thing when the most full brick has less than 200GB free and I need to write a huge file to it. I've set cluster.min-free-disk on the volume, and it doesn't seem to have an

Slow network performance issues
Hi, I have a fedora21 system that's been running fine under normal network activity, but trying to perform a full backup of the 300GB filesystem is taking forever because the network speed appears to be very slow. Using rsync, the transfer speeds reach a max of like 180kB/s. Using rsync to copy files on the local filesystem is greater than 55MB/s, so I don't think it's a disk

linear mixed effects models with breakpoints
Hi folks I have some data to which I've been fitting linear mixed effects models. I am currently using a lme model in the nlme package, with terms for random effects due to repeated measures on individuals and the corCAR1 serial correlation structure. However, there is some suggestion in the data (and from theory) that a breakpoint (change point) model may be more appropriate. Scott, Norman

[PATCH] v2v: tests: avoid '..' in member names for tar
Very recent versions of tar (most probably as a consequence of CVE-2016-6321) may refuse archive members with '..', like the relative paths to upper level directories. Since these are just tests, simply copy the files in the temporary directories where tar (or zip as well) is run, so all the files are in the same directory. --- v2v/test-v2v-i-ova-formats.sh | 9 +++++----

Multiple Services on one Server
Newbie question! We currently are running a product call TAS from Syntax Corporation and would like to move to Samba. I have review the documentation and cannot find how to set up muliple services on one server. I tried using the Netbios name = and the include statement to bring in another smb.conf file but I don't think I'm on the right track.
