Installing splancs_2.01-9 on Red Hat Linux 7.3
Hi all,
I'm trying to install the splancs contributed package on a Redhat 7.3
system with R 1.5.1 installed. I've installed the readline41-4.1-10 RPM
which Redhat requires for R and it works great, thanks very much.
However, when I attempt to R CMD INSTALL splancs_2.01-9.tar.gz as root,
I get the following error message during the install:

Printing with smbspool_krb5_wrapper not working in Ubuntu 16.04
Hello,
I have two computers, one with Ubuntu 14.04 and one with Ubuntu 16.04. On both computers I have configured the printer with cups to print by using my Kerberos credential in the same way and it works in 14.04 but not on 16.04.
For both /usr/bin/smbspool_krb5_wrapper is 700 and I have "AuthInfoRequired negotiate" for both in /etc/cups/printers.conf. I have made a symbolic link

bivirate k-function
Hi
Is there anyone who can help a reporter (me) with the following:
I want to use the bivirate k-function to determin if burgerbars are
clustered around schools.
To that purpose I’ve been told to use the bivirate k-function, but my
program Arcview doesn’t contain that.
Im stuck on a dead end – how to I for a start get the data into R?

Printing with smbspool_krb5_wrapper not working in Ubuntu 16.04
Unless somebody has an "aha!" moment and figures it out immediately, could
you please file a bug in launchpad for this issue and attach the relevant
config files and logs (for samba and cups)?

Thanks

Windows, gsview: corrupted bbox of .e?ps graphics
System: [Windows XP Pro, R 2.8.0 and R 2.81.]
When I do R graphics on Windows and want .eps output for LaTeX, with *tight
bounding boxes* I usually do as follows from Rgui:
- Save as Postscript ... myfig.ps
- Open myfig.ps in Gsview, select PS to EPS, Save as ... myfig.eps
This always worked before, and gave me .eps files that did not include much
more white space than I like, didn't

Printing with smbspool_krb5_wrapper not working in Ubuntu 16.04
Thanks for your reply! I have now filed a bug in launchpad (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1708817).
When I compare the cups error_log with 14.04 where it does work I see that 16.04 uses two backslashes when setting KRB5CCNAME while 14.04 does not use backslashes, maybe that is the problem?
Sometimes the cups error_log also have the below line "HTTP_STATE_WAITING

Reading polygon shapefiles in splancs
Dear List,
I'm trying to import a multiple polygon shapefile in splancs. I've found the following command but it seems to work only for single polygons:
Name_of_splancs_polygon<-getPolygonCoordsSlot (getPolygonsPolygonsSlot(getSpPpolygonsSlot(name_of_sp_polygon) [[1]]) [[1]])
I've tried to change the numbers but it seams to choose polygons instead of importing them

polygon class in splancs package
Dear forum,
I would like to use the kernel2d or spkernel2d in the Splancs-package, but
it does not recognize my polygon data.
"Error in kernel2d(as.points(ptsbin), polygonprov, h0 = 2, nx = 100, : " is
the error message.
Invalid poly argument
The data are defined as follows:

any good way to convert sp class objects to splancs object
Greetings:
are there any simple ways to convert an sp class object to a splancs ppp class
object, outside of reading the coordinates and computing a bounding box?
cheers,

Splancs Query
Dear R Users;
I have been using the space-time K-function analysis to detect the existence
of clustering in both space and time. I wish to ask and know what the
minimum number of cases should be for such analyses to be valid. I have
data with 23 cases and don't know how careful i should be in the
interpreting the results.
Secondly, i wish to find out if there is any bond between the

kernel density estimation for univariate data using splancs
Hi,
I previously received help in extract data from a shapefile and now my question is about kernel density estimation. My objective is to have 3 kernel density plots; 2 for the each set of cases and the 3rd is the difference in kernel densities between the 2 sets of cases. Previously, I used the density function from the stats package, which worked but I wanted finer control of the bandwidth.

Question:manipulating spatial data using combination of Maptools and Splancs
Hi,
I have a problem that concerns combination of the package Maptools and
Splancs
I have 2 shapefiles that i want to manipulate (one of type point and one
polygon).I import them in R using Maptools but then i can't estimate a
quartic Kernel using Splancs. The package doesn't recognize the shapes
(invalid points and poly argument).I don't know if this is an easy task but

par(las = 1) not possible in polymap(), library(splancs)?
Dear all,
I want my PhD thesis which I hand in tomorrow to look even nicer:
Does polymap in the splancs library not allow horizontal plotting of
y-labels? I have tried
polymap(studyarea, xlab = "x (m)", ylab = "y (m)", las = 1)
but it doesn't change the labels?
Mayby some function in library(spatstat) support las?
Thanks!
Sincerely,
Tord
