Qeury regarding 64GB SSD + 2tb?
Greetings, I have a system x3100 m4 system with 64GB SSD for OS and 2x2tb for data as MD device (software RAID). It had Fedora 17 with EFI/ I tried to install centos 6. deleting the existing partitions on the SSD /dev/sdc. sda and sdb are the 2x2tb md device mounted on /home. no joy. googling Questions: 1. Where do I locate the boot loader? /dev/sdc? is MBR (the default with Centos) enough

iscsi storage, LACP or Multipathing | Migration or rebuild?
Hi, I do have one iscsi storage with 4 GBit nics of which currently only one is configured with an ip and which is in productive use by one cent os 6.3 server. Doing some research brought me to the idea to use some nic bonding or multipathing for that storage, but multipathing I did about four or five years ago only once :) Furthormore I can't find the ultimate answer (may be there is not

iSCSI offload with Broadcom NetXtreme II BCM5709.
Hello all. We recently purchased HP Proliant DL380 G7 server and also a HP Lefthand P4500 G2 24TB iSCSI box. The server itself has Quad Ethernet based on the BCM5709 Chipset from Broadcom (NetXtreme II). My main question is about iSCSI offload mechanism, as iSCSI itself is pretty new to me but I have gotten a good hold on it tho. I have managed to setup and configured our Lefthand box into

SSD drives for the OS - 1 or 2?
Preparing to build a small replacement server (initially built in 2005) and normally for the OS I would buy 2x500GB drives and deploy in a RAID 1 configuration. Now we have SSD drives available - does just a single SSD drive offer the same reliability or is there advantage in deploying two in a Raid 1 config? Also, what form factor / interface is best for the SSD OS boot device on a server

Array changing address unexpectedly
Hi, Given the following R code: library(pryr) data <- array(dim = c(5)) for(x in 1:5) { data[x] <- as.integer(x * 2) } add = address(data) # save address of "data" for(x in 1:5) { data[x] <- as.integer(0) } if (add == address(data)) { print("Address did not change") }

just logins now and shares later
Hey, I'm still waiting for the new file server hardware to arrive so I plan to enable user logins in the meantime without profiles and home directories. Reason for this is quite some pressure from people. The setup on the 2 DCs should be done a day or two. Could there be problems if I configure profiles and home directories some weeks after users logged in for the first time? What if e.g.

Is it valid to dereference a pointer that have undef bits in its offset?
Hello all, Is it valid to dereference a pointer that has undef bits in its offset? For example, %p = alloca [8 x i8] %p2 = gep %p, (undef & 8) store 0, %p2 undef & 8 is always less than 8, so technically it will store zero to one of the array's elements. The reason is that I want to improve no-undef analysis by suggesting that a pointer that is passed to load/store is

Array changing address unexpectedly
Hi David, ? Thanks for the correction concerning the "else" issue. ? Taking your code and removing some lines (to increase readability): ? library(pryr) ? data <- array(dim = c(5)) for(x in 1:5) { ?? data[x] <- as.integer(x * 2) } ? #print(data) ? add = address(data) for(x in 1:5) { ?? data[x] <- as.integer(0) } ? if (add == address(data)) { print("Address did not

Init array to -1 with memset()?
The match.c code has a loop that initializes an array to -1. I'm considering changing this to a memset() of 0xFF over all the array's bytes, but that depends on a system's representation of a -1 being "all bit on". Should I be anal about this and add a configure check to make sure that we're not running on some weird system where this is not true? Or should I just let
