barplot: width of label
Hello, I try to make barplots with rather wide labels. A simplified example of this: x <- c(12, 33, 56, 67, 15, 66) names(x) <- c('Richard with a long surname','Minnie with a long name,'Albert','Helen','Joe','Kingston') barplot(x, las = 2) Now the label 'Richard with a long surname' is too long to fit beneath the bars. A simple solution

ggplot2: setting martin
Is it possible to set the margin in ggplot2 to a fixed size? I create many plots, and I want them to look the same. Especially I want them to have the same left margin. But P<-ggplot()+geom_bar(aes(c("short label1","short label2"),runif(2)))+coord_flip() P<-creates a plot with another margin as ggplot()+geom_bar(aes(c("very very very very long

rstudio client on the i-pad
Hi, The combination of ipad+rstudio (server) would be a fantastic combination-if it worked. It _is_ possible to run rstudio in the safari browser of the ipad, but the keyboard doesn't work correctly (blanks are inserted after each character), making it almost impossible to use. Does anyone know a solution? Or know when a solution is ready? ------------------- dr F.H.G. (Frans) Marcelissen

R 14.0, ggplot2: could not find function "initRefFields"
Hi, I have a problem combining R and SPSS (21). I do not know whether the solution is in R or in spss, so I will post both in the R group and in the SPSS group. I use the R plugin in spss(21). The most important reason to use this plugin is ggplot2 (spss does not have a decent graphical system). This plugin requires R 14.0 (14.2 or 15 does not work). When I install R it gives an warning: >

monthly median in a daily dataset
Hello, I have a multi-year dataset (see below) with date, a data value and a flag for the data value. I want to find the monthly median for each month in this dataset and then plot it. If anyone has suggestions they would be greatly apperciated. It should be noted that there are some dates with no values and they should be removed. Thanks Emily > print ( str(data$flow$daily) )

Slow initial access to shares
Hi * The first time a share is being accesed on a Samba server from a W95 machine, it takes some 10 seconds to open the share. Subsequent accesses to the same share ot other shares on the server are fast. After not accessing the server for a while again the first access is really slow. The same thing happens on a network (80 users) running Samba 2.0.4b server under HPUX 10.20 and two Samba 2.0.3

Huge number
Hi, I'm trying to calculate p-value to findout definitely expressed genes compare A to B situation. I got this data(this is a part of data) from whole organism , and each number means each expression values (that means, we could think 'a' gene is 13 in A situation, and it turns 30 in B situation) To findout probability, I'm going to use Audic - Claverie Method. Apply() on columns
Hi, I have some trouble with the following: I have a table of 7 rows and 6columns. The columns 1,2,3 have information about the number of employees. format question
Hi, I am thinking about making a small tool. After reading about patents and mp3 I choose another format. OGG seems best. I was wondering if I can edit the OGG files and adjust the volume, to create a Fade-in and Fade-out. The tool I need makes configurable timed fade-ins and fade-outs of the volume of my OGG files. And if someone knows good python libaries for OGG I would like to hear

file-attr-restore and dollar signs
Hi All, I've been using the great file-attr-restore script with rsync to get around problems with uid's on a portable hard drive... It's the perfect solution for me. (for those that haven't seen it,you can get it here: http://samba.org/ftp/unpacked/rsync/support/file-attr-restore ) Anyway, I found a small bug in the script. file-attr-restore fails for file names with dollar

[cfe-dev] GN build roundtable summary; adding GN build files to the repo
If I read this correctly, there isn't much opposition to landing the gn files as long as it's very clear that regular devs aren't supposed to update them and that it's clear that they're experimental The main concerns I've heard so far: - Having two build systems is confusing. I can see this, but I think putting the gn files below llvm/experimental/gn (instead of right

[cfe-dev] GN build roundtable summary; adding GN build files to the repo
Any easy way to do this as some kind of overlay, so they GN files wouldn't live in the LLVM repository, but in a separate one? (this might avoid some of the community discussion - though would perhaps still likely have the issue I see as most significant: With a sufficient number of developers using GN, the rate of build breaks due to those developers missing CMake file updates might rise to

Q: Ideal print setup on Solaris (2.6)
Hello there, We want to improve the way we initially setup printing on a farm of about 20 Solaris 2.6 servers, in a way that all the possibillities of printing are well impelmented and usable. Right now users can't delete jobs when they are queued onto the (Samba)server and (of course, because it's configured now like that- see example) every printer's job list appears in the same
