panic possibly related to soft updates? (4.8-STABLE, Jun 12 2003)
Hello list, I have been fighting this problem for a few days now. I have changed memory and opened the case and monitored for heat. I have been getting the same panic about every 12 to 24 hours. I can let the system sit idle, or run it under a heavy load (cpu and disk), but the panics dont seem to be related to system load. It looks to me like a dangling pointer in softdep_update_inodeblock,

4.9 RC1 (i386) mplayer induced panic
All: I cvsup'ed earlier this evening and am still able to reproduce this panic at will. Command line, panic backtrace, dmesg, ldd output, and mplayer version follow. If more information is needed, just let me know. % mplayer foo.mov [a quicktime file] [plays for awhile, and then panics] # gdb -k -s /usr/obj/usr/src/sys/LICHEN/kernel.debug -e /var/crash/kernel.2 -c /var/crash/vmcore.2

win 10 client on linux pdc, join domain ok, logon script fails to run
hi, I have samba 4.3.9-Ubuntu setup. followed a guide to get a windows 10 client to join my pdc OK but cannot get netlogon scripts to run. I can see them in the share \\<server>\netlogon and I can manually run them from windows shell or by double clicking them. They just won't run by themselves. I have done the registry pokes + policy changes as:

FFS related panic in 4.8-STABLE
Every few days now I get a panic like the one shown in the attached backtrace. I've made sure my filesystem is clean with fsck and even turned off write caching on my IDE drive. Maybe someone here can figure out what is wrong. Let me know if you need more information. Trouble with Samba 2.2.2 under HPUX (high cpu utilization)
Hello, I have been tracking down a cause for some abnormal CPU utilization with samba. It appears after looking at glance plus that samba is spending the majority of its time (like around 75-80%) doing lstat system calls. When I used tusc I discovered that it appears to be looking for a file /tmp/.winbindd which I am assuming is the unix domain socket for winbind. However this system is not

Unix Fast File System (UFS/FFS) 1/2 - (usage/install)
There is a confusion about the name of this file system, then I decided to contact the author (Kirk McKusick) who replied: "The name has always been confusing (my bad). The code is broken into two parts, the part that handles naming (UFS where the U stands for Unix), and the part that handles disk layout (FFS where the F stands for Fast). When the two parts are put together they are called

[akpm@zip.com.au: Re: ext3 and chattr +S on postfix spools]
postfix-users seems to be a subscription only list. I'd recommend incorporating TDMA <http://tdma.sf.net/> to allow for easy discussion by outsiders Andrew Morton (of ext3 fame) had sent this message to postfix-users list I am forwarding so that Wietse can hopefully provide the definitive answer to the question Andrew Morton/Stephen Tweedie seek ----- Forwarded message from Andrew

Deep learning y redes neuronales

hppa, powerpcspe: call for klibc/mksh testers
Hi, no mailing list for powerpcspe? What?s the progress of your architectures? I don?t see much happening on debian-ports.org, and taking your architectures off that infrastructure hurts others (I?ve ?revived? m68k and kept it running on d-p.o which helps a bit). Anyway: a new klibc (2.0~rc5-1) has been uploaded, and an mksh companion version (40.9.20120518-1) depending on it and trying to use

[RFC v2 06/20] drm/nouveau/kms: Search for encoders' connectors properly
While the way we find the associated connector for an encoder is just fine for legacy modesetting, it's not correct for nv50+ since that uses atomic modesetting. For reference, see the drm_encoder kdocs. Fix this by removing nouveau_encoder_connector_get(), and replacing it with nv04_encoder_get_connector(), nv50_outp_get_old_connector(), and nv50_outp_get_new_connector(). v2: * Don't

HP-UX 11.0 libpam patch
Patch PHCO_22265 (s700_800 11.00 cumulative libpam and libpam_unix patch) is now available that fixes a problem discussed a while back on the list regarding an incorrect return value from pam_acct_mgmt(), which effected the ability to change an expired password: (SR: 8606160402 CR: JAGad29724) HP-UX is inconsistent with the PAM standard with respect to the return value for
