smbcquotas tells me that "quotas are not enabled"
I have a setup of Ubuntu 8.04 running Samba 3.0.28a. Connected to our network I
have a buffalo linkstation acting as Network Attached Storage (NAS), which I
have successfully mounted on the local file system.
Using smbcquotas I believe I can set up a quota for each user on the NAS. To
get started, I run the command:
smbcquotas //192.168.1.4/share -S FSQFLAGS:QUOTA_ENABLED -A

smbcquotas (Need help with command syntax)
I need to setup quota on //server/home for user a to 1GB
and
on //server/client (for all users on this share) to 10GB
May you please let me know the exact command to be used for this? Also, do I need to add any other parameter in smb.conf in order to make quotas work? I have compiled samba with quotas option.
Thank you.

Samba + Share Quota's
Hi Samba users.
I have the following problem and I hope somebody can help me:
I installed Samba on a White Box linux machine and used LDAP for authentication.
I created a directory /work/shares. In /work/shares are all share directories created.
The problem I'm having now is that the total capacity of each share is the same because they are on the same partition.
(So /work/shares/test

windows-clients only recognize softlimit
Hi all,
I'm running a samba-server (version 3.6.6 from the backports) on a Debian Squeeze System (kernel-version 2.6.32-5-686). The Debian-Server is configured as a member of an Active-Directory (Server 2003).
A samba-share is configured to be the home-drive for the domain-users, I've set up some quotas for this partition.
The problem is that the Windows-Clients only recognize the

Bug: Dovecot index loosing sync with FTS despite "fts_autoindex = yes"
?Bump. Can someone from dovecot dev team please respond something to my
problem ? I've provided all the possible information, and if not please
tell me.
Or do you only provide support for your own FTS solution bundled with
the paid version of dovecot-pro ? If so, you should clearly state it in
the wiki.
Thanks

configure options for 3.x -still experimental?
Hello. I am trying to set up SAMBA 3.x on FC4. SAMBA will be PDC with no
other server. I work at a K-12 school, so unless I want 20 episodes of
"Family Guy" in a student's folder, I need to set quotas.
I've been looking around for 2 days and I'm stumped.
I found something called smbcquotas, but it seems to apply to a mixed NT
server environment.
I heard rumors of configure

Trouble with install, still
I've tried building it on a server that I know has pretty much every
library possible for a program to need, but I'm still not getting a
good samba install.
I'm on white-dwarf linux (kernel 2.4.25), gcc 3.3.2, Samba 3.0.2a
White-dwarf is home-grown, very much like slackware.
When I configure and make and make install, I don't get any errors, but
I when I look for some files

Mates,
The saga continues, but THANK GOD 'make revert' WORKS. Here is my
problem. I am trying to compile 3.0.7 from source and install it on my
Mandrake 7.2 box. The gcc compiler is 2.95.3. Here is what I have done:
[stop samba]
# ./configure --prefix=/usr --with-smbmount
# make
# make install
# /etc/rc.d/init.d/smb start
Here is what I get:

Bug: Dovecot index loosing sync with FTS despite "fts_autoindex = yes"
I think I'm progressing: if I create a brand new user, send her an
email, it will not be indexed right away. I need to doveadm rescan /
index the Inbox before.
At the end of this email, a dovecot's debug log snipset (grep'ed on this
user). In it I can read: "Debug: fts: Indexes disabled for namespace ''
Can this be a problem ?
Thanks
