puppet-gluster from zero: hangout?
Hey james and JMW: Can/Should we schedule a google hangout where james spins up a puppet-gluster based gluster deployment on fedora from scratch? Would love to see it in action (and possibly steal it for our own vagrant recipes). To speed this along: Assuming James is in England here , correct me if im wrong, but if so ~ Let me propose a date: Tuesday at 12 EST (thats 5 PM in london - which i

Re: "virt-install" source location boot disk
Hi Giuseppe... ! Thanks for the hint. ill try it. So from the docs, I'm seeing this: "As of Fedora 16 there must be a biosboot partition for the bootloader to be installed successfully onto a disk that contains a GPT/GUID partition table, which includes disks initialized by anaconda. This partition may be created with the kickstart option part biosboot --fstype=biosboot --size=1.

peer probe fails (107)
Hi gluster: Im getting the cryptic 107 error, (I guess this means gluster can't see a peer)... gluster peer probe vm-2 peer probe: failed: Probe returned with unknown errno 107 When I can effectively ssh and ping a given server. I've seen other threads regarding this, some of them to deal with the "net.ipv4.ip_nonlocal_bind" parameter, and also a bug

provisioning with vagrant-libvirt leaves .img file only readable by root
I'm using libvirt on Debian/stretch (testing) with vagrant and the vagrant-libvirt plugin. When I import a vagrant box (jessie64.box), the resulting file permssions let anyone in the "kvm" group read the img. But when I build upon that box, only root can read it: -rw------- 1 root root 20198785024 Sep 19 18:19 buildserver_default.img -rwxr--r-- 1 libvirt-qemu kvm

I can ping my host machine, however. -- Jay Vyas http://jayunit100.blogspot.com

CentOS box images at Vagrant Cloud give 404
Hi, At Vagrant Cloud there are "box" images for stream8 and stream9 [1]. At least they are supposed to be there. The download links on the detail pages, for example for stream9 20230727.1 [2] are redirected to cloud.centos.org, however they give an 404 error. Possibly the centos Vagrant Cloud page is not kept up to date with the actual box images that are now present on

Reusable Puppet config for Vagrant
I took an hour this morning to document how I use Vagrant and Puppet together to provision development VMs as well as more production-like systems. This may be entirely elementary to folks who are more fluent with Puppet, but this is an example I thought was lacking. https://github.com/blalor/vagrant-puppet-example I welcome feedback and criticism of this setup. How does vmm get all mmio areas of pci devices?
Hi, any one help? I have puzzled by the question of device''s MMIO areas. I know a MMIO operation of guest os handled by VMM as follow steps: 1: Qemu-dm does its initialization and presents virtual devices for guest os. 2: virtual bios executes PCI_setup, it will scan the pci bus and get configure space of all devices, then virtual bios allocation system resources(like port I/O range,MMIO
