Unexplained shutdown of VM on upgrade of libvirt package
I am running KVM on Centos 6.3 and am seeing an unexplained shut down of
two guests. The libvirt package was upgraded to
libvirt-0.10.2-18.el6_4.4.x86_64 at the time of the shutdown. Only the
two guests shown below was affected, while 9 others running on the same
hypervisor were not.
Can some one help me to find the cause please ?
Regards

Error Starting domain: Failed to page size of file
I am trying to connect a KVM-QEMU VM to OVS-DPDK vhostuser port. But, I am
encountering a few errors. Since I am very new to libvrt and Linux I am not
able to sort them out. Any guidance in this regard would be a great help.

My Windows7 VM stopped at loading screen.
Hello.
I've been tesing VGA passthrough using libvirt.
However, My *Windows7*(64bit) Virtual Machine stopped at loading screen as
soon as I installed graphic driver(*AMD Radeon HD 7750*) and then restarted
the VM.
How Can I use VGA passthrough technology in my *Windows7* VM?
I attached my testing information(HW, system environment and settings, qemu
log and so on..)
Best Regards.

KVM (Centos 6.3 64bit): Windowx XP is very slow
Dear all,
I install centos 6.3-64bit in a new server and also installed KVM using yum. Then I create a new virtual machine(i686) to install windows xp, but it's very slow, do you know why?
Server: CPU: i7 3370, Memory: 16GB.
Virtual machine: 1 cpu and 1GB ram. type: i686
KVM information:

Should Windows NT guest use all of a CPU?
I've "ported" an old VMware VM containing Windows NT 4 SP6 into
libvirt/kvm/qemu and got it running (more or less).
However, the CPU graph next to the VM in virt-manager shows it
starts using 100% of the allocated CPU as soon as it reaches
the "OS Loader" screen, and stays there even after Windows has
booted and I've logged in. (There's a dip now and then,

hardware error 0x80000021 on Ubuntu 12.10, need advice
Hi,
On a DELL r610 (Intel Xeon L5520) and a Windows guest I have an
hardware error. The bug is well known[1][2] and seems fixed with the
package 3.5.0-16-generic. But I use 3.5.0-30-generic. Do I need to
upgrade to 13.10? Or just the kernel ? Or modify the options of the
kvm module?
Thanks.

Re: Mount URL as cdrom/iso KVM/QEMU
Hi Daniel,
I have noticed that it will fail exactly as you said if <cdrom> is first in the boot order, if <hd> is first in the boot order the XML validates and it starts as usual.
first in log except below is with cdrom set to first in boot order, second is with hd set first.

Unable to use more than 4 serial devices at once.
Hi All.
I'm trying to setup a guest within my hypervisor that acts as a Console
Server, using 10 USB to Serial adapters. The Host is all setup and can
access each Serial Port without problems.
I have attempted to add the Serial Connections to a Guest, using both
Virtual Machine Manager and by editing the .XML file, and I can add up to 4
Serial devices (Including one for console access to the

Problems with libvirt for MIPS
Hello.
It's my first time here, so I'm so sorry if I make mistakes with how I'm
sending or posting this.
I wanted to ask about some problems I've found with other people, working
with libvirt. We wanted to create a new virtual machine under MIPS
architecture, using Qemu and libvirt. We are able to create the machine,
and it boots, but never gets an IP. I'll leave the commands

Sluggish performance with virtio and Win10
Hello,
I'm using virt-manager on my F23 box to run a Windows 10 image but the

Hi,
i have a SLES 11 SP2 64bit host with three guests:
- Windows XP 32
- Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64bit
- SLES 11 SP2 64bit
The SLES guest shuts down with the host shutdown. The others not. When i shutdown these two guests with the virt-manager, they shutdown fine.
ACPI is activated in virt-manager for both of them. Acpid is running in the Ubuntu Client.
When the host shuts down, the two guests get a

Is the rsync a first copy or are you overwriting a previous copy. How fast is the transfer rate with scp?
