Samba 4 and GSSAPI kerberos ldap connect
Hi everyone I'm trying to use kerberos to authenticate to Samba 4 ldap. At the moment, I authenticate by specifying the binddn and password in /etc/nslcd.conf and all works fine If I add the line: sasl_mech GSSAPI to /etc/nslcd.conf and restart nslcd, no one can connect to the database. Nothing works. ldapsearch and getent passwd draw a blank. ldapsearch -x -b '' -sbase

I currently have the following in my smb.conf related to password changes: passwd program = /usr/bin/ldappasswd -x -W -S -D uid=%u,ou=Users,dc=example,dc=com passwd chat = "*Enter

ldap passwd sync
Having a bit of trouble understanding, or getting, "ldap passwd sync" working. I assume, setting it to Yes, would make it issue a change password command to the ldap server, just like pam does, ldappasswd does, or any other ldap program. Right? What does only do? -- Jerry Haltom <jhaltom@feedbackplusinc.com> Feedback Plus, Inc.

I just wonder if it would be possible to set a password via the command line, like: smbldap-passwd.pl testuser1 not24get I have to create accounts for several hundreds people every year and give them an immutable password. So long I do that with smbpasswd, ldappasswd and a tiny script around these tools. I tried smbldap-passwd.pl

userdb with LDAP
Hi list I currently having troubles to "connect" dovecot (for proxy) to an existing LDAP. If I got the dovecot wiki right only userdb is needed for a proxy setup where the proxy does not authenticate but just forward to the backend for authentication. So I setup the following in dovecot-ldap.conf.ext user_attrs = =password,=y=nopasswd,=y=proxy, mailHost=host user_filter =

Samba and Ldap
Hi, all the users here are stored in a LDAP-Server, means authentication on a workstation (linux) is over LDAP. Yesterday I configured a Samba-Server, it also uses the LDAP-Server as its backend. I found out, that with a call "smbpasswd -a user" an existing user gets all the attributes from the sambaSamAccount automaticly. But here is my first question - for this call I need to know the
