KVM integrated network (user mode) dying after inactivity
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA256 Hi list, I searched the web for bug reports regarding this phenomenon I see on *multiple* machines of a customer, however, I didn't find an exact fit. So, I'd like to ask here whether anyone else has run into this. I have multiple CentOS 6 machines running using KVM to virtualize a bunch of machines on them (LVM-based). Software releases

GUI suggestions for XCP (archipel?)
I''ve just installed XCP and am looking about for a good GUI to control it. I''m not a windows person at all so would prefer a non-windows solution (ESXi really bugs me in that regard) Web based would be great, then it wouldn''t matter what system controlled it. (I usually use a Mac but also run Linux desktops) Has archipel been tried? Opinions on ease of install/use?

Do I need to enable qemu-ga's guest-suspend: hybrid/suspend-ram/disk/shutdown?
How do I "enable" qemu-ga on a guest to be able to (I think this means have a success-response:true) for: guest-suspend-hybrid; guest-suspend-ram; guest-suspend-disk; and guest-shutdown? At least I think that's my question. http://wiki.stoney-cloud.org/wiki/Qemu_Guest_Agent_Integration shows these same 4 as false, so I'm not sure if they're always supposed to be that way.

qemu - could not load kernel and dynamic ownership setting
Hi, I am getting following 'qemu: could not load kernel' error while trying to create a new VM using virt-install or virt-manager. The software versions are as follows: CentOS 6.2, Libvirt 0.9.4, qemu-kvm 2:0.12.1.2-2.209.el6_2.1. The qemu.conf has disabled dynamic_ownership setting. The VM instantiation has worked fine before when dynamic_ownership was enabled (default). So is this

libvirt-guests.service doesn't work, but manually running libvirt-guests.sh stop does
Using libvirt 1.2.18 (-1 Arch) and QEMU git-master (2.4.0.r40384.2d69736). pm-utils 1.4.1-6. acpid 2.0.23-4 Installed using Q35 chipset. I can perform virsh # shutdown <vmname>, and watching the client VM console see a graceful shutdown. Does libvirt abstract each and any vm specific command?
Hello, my project still uses VBoxManage but I am inclined to switch to libvirt, if possible, because I like the concept. Some rather unusual commands are used by my project... VBoxManage modifyvm "$VMNAME" --synthcpu on VBoxManage setextradata "$VMNAME" "VBoxInternal/Devices/VMMDev/0/Config/GetHostTimeDisabled" "1" VBoxManage modifyvm "$VMNAME"

Xen 4.1.2 PVHVM guest with Linux 3.1.0 network problem, empty MAC address (all zeroes)
Hello, While testing Fedora 16 Xen PVHVM guests I noticed the following problem: When starting F16 PVHVM guest I can see the vifX.0 and tapX.0 interfaces appear on dom0, but after the guest kernel (Linux 3.1.0) starts and loads PVHVM drivers the vif/tap interfaces disappear from dom0.. so the bridge in dom0 doesn''t have any vifs/taps connected to it anymore. Has anyone seen that
