Getting two notifications of nocomm-timer expired when USB cable is pulled from the UPS
NUT 2.8.01 When I pull the USB cable from the UPS, I get two notifications of the nocomm-timer expired. The first notification is in the proper sequence, the second notification occurs after 'commok' occurs. Seems somehow that upssched-cmd is getting a second nocomm-timer expired delayed. Help with booting dom0 on a Dell 2950
Hi, I have installed b_78 on a Dell 2950 and booting to bare metal works fine but when I try to boot using the grub entry Solaris xVM it will boot to the point where it displays the uname info and then just stays there. It will not boot past that point. I have enabled VT technology in the BIOS (but only after the installation). Where/what can I look at to trouble shoot this? I am new to xen and

usb ups on openindiana
Hello all, I am trying to set up my brother's UPS (remotely over internet) on an OpenIndiana-based storage box. According to him, the UPS is probably an Ippon Back Power Pro 600 dated around 2003 (battery recently replaced), and it has an USB connection. Sorry for a relatively long post with a log of my successes and failures, in the hopes that someone would point out what I did wrong.

OpenIndiana production-ready?
Hello list, What''s the current production-readiness of OI 151a? I''m evaluating Solaris 11 at the moment on HP server hardware + SAS JBODs. Also considering picking up a Thumper/Thor on the used market. For a ZFS storage server, is it a better idea to just stick w/ Oracle Solaris, or is OI also a good bet? How do the ZFS implementations differ between Solaris 11 and OI? Thanks

NUT, USB, OpenIndiana
I'm about to deploy en OpenIndiana (the heir of OpenSolaris) box as my main iSCSI backend. However, all attempts at getting NUT 2.6 to work with my usbhid-ups cyberpower has resulted in the driver going down with a segmentation fault. Is there a known problem with nut+usb+openindiana (opensolaris), or am I just doing something wrong? //Svein --

Building R on Solaris (OpenIndiana) with gcc 4.6.2 for amd64 target - relocation problems solved
Hello, the "R Installation and Administration" handbook states in Section C 5.1: For ?amd64? the builds have failed to complete in several different ways, currently with relocation errors for libRblas.so. To fix it: add '-shared' to the SHLIB_LDFLAGS, SHLIB_CXXLDFLAGS and SHLIB_FCLDFLAGS before starting configure. So the complete set of variables' values sufficient to

Cyberpower model numbers in the HCL
Anyone familiar with Cyberpower's model numbers? I finally got sick of my Tripplite's USB port going south, all the time, so I'm looking to replace it. The HCL has an entry for a Cyberpower model CP1500AVRLCD. Not listed is the CP1500PFCLCD model, a newer, premium version of the unit; but the HCL does have an entry for the CP1000PFCLCD model. Pretty sure that the CP1500PFCLCD

no network interfaces found on OpenIndiana (Illumos)
Hi, I've downloaded the samba 3.6.12 OpenCSW package. I joined openindiana to the the active directory, winbind seems to work fine, I see all the users with "wbinfo -u". However, my samba server is not starting. It seems that there is no network card found. 2013/03/06 10:40:39.068405, 0] lib/interface.c:543(load_interfaces) WARNING: no network interfaces found [2013/03/06

winbind authentication FAILED with error NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_USER [samba 3.6.12/AD/openindiana(illumos)]
Hi, My OpenIndiana (opensolaris) machine is joined to Active Directory. I'm using samba 3.6.12 from OpenCSW. wbinfo -u is working fine, getent was not working in the beginning, but after some fiddling with libraries it was working ( I had to create the following two symbolic links, not sure if they both are correct) /lib/libnss_winbind.so -> /opt/csw/lib/libnss_winbind.so.1

Nut on OmniOS + CP1500PFCLCD
Dear NUT users, I have installed OmniOS+ napp-it on a HP Proliant n54l. This box is powered by a cyberpower CP1500PFCLCD ups. I have installed nut thanks to that link: http://wiki.openindiana.org/oi/Network+UPS+Tools+(NUT)+and+NUT+Monitor The issue is that the driver does not load at startup - but it does if i start it as root using upsdrvctl -u root start. Beside the startup driver launch,
