Problem installing R on Debian 6
Dear Hartyun Khachatryan,
thanks for your report. It seems not a lot of people are using the backport to
squeeze, as I have forgot to update the package index after doing the backport
for R 3.2.2 and nobody (including me) noticed...
The updated index is on its way to the CRAN mirrors, it will take some time to
be synchronised, so please try again tomorrow.

Unable to install R 3.1.2 on Debian:Testing
Dear Carl,
the CRAN repository does not support Debian testing. I did think of adding support for jessie,
as it is frozen now, but did not get around to do it yet.
I believe you would have no problem when using Debian stable.

Unable to install R 3.1.2 on Debian:Testing
Dear Johannes, R-sig-debian list,
Along with Dirk Eddelbuettel I've been maintaining Debian-based Docker
containers for R. Recently our container installing r-base has started to
fail. This seems to be due to a problem with the libjpeg dependencies. The
example I show below was working with debian:jessie on Jan 5th, but has
been failing since then.

rkward_0.6.5-1~stretchcran.0_amd64.deb missing
Hi Johannes:
Thank you very much. Rkward now works. The only drawback is that I had to install it "by hand":
sudo dpkg -i rkward_0.6.5-1~stretchcran.0_amd64.deb rkward-data_0.6.5-1~stretchcran.0_all.deb
By default, apt-get installed the Debian repository version (rkward 0.6.5-1+b1 0.6.5-1+b1).
Thanks for your contributions to the R-Debian project!
Regards. Griera.

Hello Johannes:
I'm sorry, but I still have the same problem with Rkward.
After running apt-get update, I still can not find the amd64 version of the Rkward package. I have tried it with the following sources:
deb http://cran.r-project.org/bin/linux/debian stretch-cran34/
deb http://chem.uft.uni-bremen.de/ranke/r-cran stretch-cran34/

Hello and apologies if this doesn't belong here.
I'm trying to build a "portable" version of R - "portable" means that it could be easily moved to another location or machine simply by copying it. However, I encountered a problem when running it elsewhere: it seems that versions of dynamic libraries used by R are fixed and set at the build time; when that instance of R

Hello Griera,
sorry, I forgot an "svn add", so the package got lost on the way.
It is on chem now, and will migrate to CRAN shortly.

rkward_0.6.5-1~stretchcran.0_amd64.deb missing
Hi:
I have tried to upgrade from version 3.4.0 to 3.4.1 in a Debian Stretch following the instructions of the web page:
https://cran.r-project.org/bin/linux/debian/
but after updating, Rkward does not work (Error in RK: Graphics API version mismatch). Analyzing the problem, I notice that the Rkward package is not available in the amd64 version (yes in the i386 version), for example here:

Simo still doing deb's at samba.org?
I happened to check if there are current Debian .deb packages for 3.0.20a at samba.org, only 3.0.14a in the directory. Will this be updated, or has there been a change in operations behind the scenes?
Thanks!

Who builds the Debian packages?
Is there a different group building the Debian packages which are at samba.org than debian.org? I see debian.org in unstable has rebuild the 3.0.6 three times now, samba.org is still showing an
initial build.
Also, the directory structure lables the deb files as "stable" but debian.org still has Samba 2.x in stable.
This all is just "slightly" confusing.

Security = ADS and 3.0.23 Upgrade
Since upgrading to 3.0.23 I have encountered several problems. (latest
Debian Sarge with deb's from samba.org and security = ADS). All was
working flawlessly before.
*1.* getent passwd no longer lists machine accounts.
*2.* On the Win2K pdc, the samba system's "DNS name" on the general tab
is now listed as localhost.localdomain, and the operating system is
still listed as
