ssh
Hello! I would really appreciate any hints to a little puzzle that has been gnawing at me about remote sessions with ssh... (and likely all connectivity programs...) Because network connections can only talk in ASCII, there is no way to tell the difference between TAB and "Ctrl-i" (i.e. pressing Ctrl and i keys together). BOTH are transmitted as same ASCII code. Likewise, Ctrl-m and

?? 'OpenFile failed. Distribution Media Appears to be corrupt.' ??
I'm trying to run a stock analysis app called NAIC Toolkit 4 in Wine on Fedora Core 2 Linux.... It uses InstallShield I think (it has a fancy GUI installation piece) so I: 1. installed DCOM98 2. ran EXE file via Wine with WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ole32,oleaut32,rpcrt4=n" switch This got rid of some errors but now I'm stuck at one last one... Single Sign On
We have a network of PCs running XP and servers running Win 2k and Win 2003. User Account management is done with Active Directory (AD). We want to add some Sun Solaris computers to this network. One of the network guys said that Samba could be used as a single sign on solution for a network of Windows and Solaris computers. He said that Samba 3.x provided the capability to use Active

Problem with VLANs on tg3 NICs
I have 3 machines, T60 thinkpad with e1000 NIC Dell PowerEdge 2950 with bnx2 NIC HP DL360 G4P with tg3 NIC All running xen 3.03 / 2.6.16.29-xen I have a netbootable image with 2.6.16.29-xenU. documentation on installing dvd2 in 6.3 x64 release?
Hello - I've searched the CentOS 6.3 wiki docs (Help, Tips and Tricks, HowTo, FAQ, and website search) on how to install the dvd2.iso image on an x86-64 machine and can't find any info and the documentation is not yet posted for CentOS 6.x. When the dvd1.iso for 6.3 x86_64 installs, it does not prompt to install dvd2.iso. Please provide a URL which describes how to install the

PAM keyboard-interactive
The following patch (relative to -current) makes PAM a proper kbd-interactive citizen. There are a few limitations (grep for todo), but the code seems to work OK for protocols 1 & 2 with and without privsep. Please have a play! auth2-pam.c is based on code from FreeBSD. New PAM kbd-int diff
Below is a new PAM kbd-int diff based on FreeBSD's code. This code makes PAM kbd-int work with privilege separation. Contrary to what I have previously stated - it *does* handle multiple prompts. What it does not handle is multiple passes through the PAM conversation function, which would be required for expired password changing. I would really appreciate some additional eyes over the

PAM kbd-int with privsep
The following is a patch (based on FreeBSD code) which gets kbd-int working with privsep. It moves the kbd-int PAM conversation to a child process and communicates with it over a socket. The patch has a limitation: it does not handle multiple prompts - I have no idea how common these are in real-life. Furthermore it is not well tested at all (despite my many requests on openssh-unix-dev@). -d

4. Rexcel (Luis Felipe Parra)-how to run a code from excel
Hi Louis, It's simple to run a r script from the excel spreadsheet. Just write your code, source("C:\\Quantil Aplicativos\\Genercauca\\BackwardSelectionNC.r"), into a cell of a workingsheet. Then right-click the cell and select "run code" in the pop-up menu. Hope this will help you. Best, Bernard -----????----- ???: r-help-bounces at r-project.org [mailto:r-help-bounces

Hi all I am using samba ver 1.9.16p11 and we disengaged all the shares in the smb.conf and only allow the system admin personnel to uncomment shares as they wish (security reasons) however, the biggest problem that we are having is that we are unable to access samba at all, it shows up on the computer but he shares that are uncommented cannot be accessed with valid UNIX login and passwords. rsync 2.5.5 Tru64 5.1
Hi, I am trying to compile rsync 2.5.5 on a Tru64 box. I downloaded configure.in revision 1.148, which I believe is the correct fix for the getaddrinfo problem; however I still have errors compiling rsync. Also I had to change line 22 in options.c from #include "popt.h" to #include "popt/popt.h". Any suggestions or ideas? Tan Dang
