HI Samba Team,
Can you please help me understanding the if i can join a samba3.x or 4.x as a member to Microsoft RODC server. This is a Windows 2008 RODC server. I have many issues while connecting samba to a RODC, looks like a common issue people are facing.

samba_kcc RODC failes with NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
Hello list,
I try to fix my issue and found some more debug information:
1) I see error in this situation:
Default-First-Site-Name:
- TEST-DC (RWDC)
Testsite2:
- empty
Testsite:
- BUILDHOST (RODC)
If I move TEST-DC to Testsite2, it fix the error, maybe because of 2).
2) python/samba/kcc/__init__.py:create_connections function try always to connect to Default-First-Site-Name, although

Hello list,
I run 2 Samba 4.7.1 RODCs. One in my Default-First-Site-Name and in additional Site where only Samba RODC exists.
When I start samba_kcc on first RODC it run’s without errors. If I start samba_kcc on RODC in additional Site it fails with:
/usr/local/samba/sbin/samba_kcc: Traceback (most recent call last):

samba_kcc RODC failes with NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
Hello Rowland,
of course it will be started by samba, I saw this output if I run "samba -i".
But I can trigger this output also by starting samba_kcc manually.

Réf. : Re: Net rpc vampire : NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
Hi all,
Thank you for your help, and sorry for my late answer.
Everything works fine by now !
Yes, you have to become a BDC to vampire the accounts ! This is why I was
getting an "Access denied" error :
I thought my Samba was a BDC, but I forgot to add "domain logon = Yes" in
my smb.conf, so Samba was a simple share server.
Here is the steps I followed to suck the accounts :

I've run into this, too. The problem is that the inliner pass uses a 30
bit integer to store the inline

Xen in a Box Proposal
Hi,
Regarding my gsoc proposal (xen in a box), I have developed a set of
scripts to create a custom CentOS ISO which delivers Xen 4.4 stack on
CentOS 6.6 with libvirt and fully bridge network settings. I have used xen
scripts for networking settings.
Waiting for feedback.

samba-3.0rc1 Can access PDC but not others
Hello,
I am trying to migrate an NT domain from an NT PDC to a samba3.0 PDC
without disrupting users or requiring them to change passwords, etc. The
complication is that there are NT fileservers in the domain already, so
it's important that the users be transferred to the samba machine with
SID's and RID's intact (so they can access these shares with the same
permissions).

[CentOS-devel] xapi for centOS 6.6
Thanks Jon,
it worked, I was able to build all the packages for xenserver on CentOS 6.6
final version.
Here is the package list:
https://gist.github.com/gautammaloo/7616cccbe8f5c85c196e
I was wondering what packages would be necessary to use Xen with xapi, I
already have xen with xl installed. Could we have a package like
http://packages.ubuntu.com/precise/xcp-xe with which we can have

Issues post AD migration
Hi Rowland,
The issue seems to be due to the groups who decided not to show up in AD. Strangely, even when we added the group with the same name in the AD, it didn't resolv the issue. Even though smb.conf dictates that the user have to a member of a group with that name. Using getent group, we can see the group. Does Samba hold on to the SID of the group somehow?
Is there a way to get

After upgrade to 4.9.4, internal DNS no longer working
Ok, you have found something, and i've seen a bit more.
First, this.
/usr/bin/samba_kcc: ImportError: /usr/lib/samba/libreplace-samba4.so:
version `SAMBA_4.7.4' not found (required by /usr/lib/libsamba-util.so.0)

There are left overs from a previous install.
You are on Arch Linux as i did read.
With what i've seen.

User Permissions issue
Hi Denis
I have upgraded my samba DC-1 from 4.6.12 to 4.7.4 which has solved the
replication issues between DC-1 and DC-2. Now both the DC's are running on
4.7.4.
Like Rowland said previously, you should remove all RODC that have been
installed prior to Samba 4.7. There are many fixes that have been added
since 4.6.
Before I remove my RODC's I like to clear out few doubts:
1. Instead of

winbind+samba3.0 pdc on the same machine
Hi all,
I am trying to install samba 3.0 pdc alongwith winbind
on the same machine, the objective is to allow Squid
to use ntlm_auth for samba users existing on the same
machine.
If I move squid to another machine, join this machine
to samba3.0 domain and then use wbinfo, everything
works fine. But when I install squid on the same
machine as samba and then try to use wbinfo it fails.
I get the
