Hello, I am trying to migrate an NT domain from an NT PDC to a samba3.0 PDC without disrupting users or requiring them to change passwords, etc. The complication is that there are NT fileservers in the domain already, so it's important that the users be transferred to the samba machine with SID's and RID's intact (so they can access these shares with the same permissions).

Hi Rowland, The issue seems to be due to the groups who decided not to show up in AD. Strangely, even when we added the group with the same name in the AD, it didn't resolv the issue. Even though smb.conf dictates that the user have to a member of a group with that name. Using getent group, we can see the group. Does Samba hold on to the SID of the group somehow? Hi Denis I have upgraded my samba DC-1 from 4.6.12 to 4.7.4 which has solved the replication issues between DC-1 and DC-2. Now both the DC's are running on 4.7.4.
