KWD crashes when opening OOo
Hello,
KWD crashes almost regularly when trying to start OpenOffice.org. I've
attached two output files from valgrind to this e-mail (as suggested by David
Reveman in another mail 11.7):
Use something like:
valgrind --tool=memcheck kde-window-decorator ....
I'm using Trevino's git version of Compiz in up-to-date Kubuntu Feisty system.

XKB: Failed to compile keymap
I had to stop using the fglrx video driver from ELRepo, which isn't
supported with CentOS 6.4. Now I can't start X; I get the following:

how best to rollback from a yum update?
Suppose I want to upgrade a bunch of packages on a system, but in case the upgrade produces unexpected, undesired results, I want to be able to rollback the system to its original state. What is the best way to do that?
Often, I won't have, or be able to find, packages for the current installed versions. I.e. If I haven't upgraded postgres for 2 years, it may be that I can no longer

directory /dev/disk/by-label
I am trying to create a CF card that boots 686 CentOS 6.3
On boot I get a message about /dev/disk/by-label/\x2f where \x2f is "/"
cannot be found.
Adding rdshell to the boot line and booting up sure enough
the /dev/disk directory does not exist.
What "creates" that early on in the boot process?
My CF card was changed from UUID to LABEL. So I edited grub.conf and make

Centos 6.2 x64 after GRUB menu, black screen with blinking cursor
Dear CentOS users,
I installed CentOS 6.2 x64 in a Sun Fire X4450 machine, it has 4 disks and
I configured them to be a single volume (no RAID). The installer sees the
volume perfectly, its 570Gb. I created two ext3 partitions, /dev/sda1 and
/dev/sda2. In the logs I see they are formated correctly. All the files are
installed.
Then when I reboot, I get to the GRUB menu. Choose the first and only

RPM file download
I see a package "x246-0.120-5.20120303.el6 (i686)" available in my
Add/Remove Software tool. I can't find said package in any of the repos
I've searched through.
Can anyone point me to a link where I can download that package to my
local repo?

copy/paste centos 6
I had to update all these packages on CentOS 6 for a project.
Everything works great on CentOS 6 - except - Copy/Paste between
applications.
Anyone - know which application below might control that function?
Example I cannot have firefox running and copy and paste text into
thunderbird.
Both applications - actually all applications work - I just cant copy/paste.
I'm thinking I did not

A couple of bugs...
Hello together!
I've found a couple of bugs with current compiz git,
most of them related to the use of KDE and wanted to
let you know.
1. kde-window-decorator crashes every now and then.
This seems to be especially often when starting
kaffeine media player, but not exclusively. I've
attached a backtrace, though I don't know if it is
useful in this form...

Prelink failure
I have a number of CentOS6 machines, and on one of them, the daily prelink
cron job aborts. Any ideas what to look for?
/etc/cron.daily/prelink:
/etc/cron.daily/prelink: line 47: 9381 Aborted (core dumped) /usr/sbin/prelink -av $PRELINK_OPTS >> /var/log/prelink/prelink.log 2>&1
I'm unfamiliar with prelink, so I'm not sure what to look for in the logs.

Can't run program; exec-shield or prelink active?
I have a large installer program (~400MB) that fails to run under wine
(20050310). It gives me the following:
err:virtual:map_image Image was mapped at 0x60640000: standard load address
for a Win32 program (0x00400000) not available
err:virtual:map_image Do you have exec-shield or prelink active?

The thing is that I
