does qplot works with Sweave?
Hi Hadley:
I'm practicing writing a document using MikTex but can't make qplot to execute. It works when using 'plot' though. Is this a normal behaviour?

fill=color,geom='histogram')+scale_y_continuous(i)

I would like to get more files, but the following code doesn't make any

ggplot2::qplot() -- arbitary transformations of coordinate system?
Hi,
Does anyone know how to do a coord_trans() in which the y-axis is
tranformed into (for example) -1000/y?
Thanks,

multiple qplot histograms in one plot
Hi,
I wish to plot multiple histograms(representing different data so different
range along xaxis but y axis is the same) horizontally in ggplot2. I'd like
it to look like facets. Is this possible?

Hi all.
I've just installed samba-3.0.1-rc1 as a PDC and I can add computers (
win2k ) to the domain, but when users log on, they get an error:

or words to that effect.
My smb.conf is:

sparse.model.matrix Generates Non-Existent Factor Levels if Ord.factor Columns Present
Good day,
Sometimes, sparse.model.matrix outputs a dgCMatrix which has column names consisting of factor levels that were not in the original dataset. The first factor appears to be correctly transformed, but the following factors don't. For example:
diamonds <- as.data.frame(ggplot2::diamonds)
> colnames(sparse.model.matrix(~ . -1, diamonds))

Patch proposal for logspace_sub
G'day all,
I am working on problems where I have to calculate the logarithm of a
sum or difference from the logarithms of the individual terms; so the
functions logspace_add and logspace_sub which are part of R's API come
in handy.
However, I noticed that logspace_sub can have problems if both
arguments are (very) small or the difference between the arguments are
vary small. The logic

On Section 2.5:Sub-architectures in the R Installation and Administration manual
Dear all,
there are a few issues regarding Section 2.5: Sub-architectures in the
R Installation and Administration manual (referring to Version 2.6.2)
that I would like to raise:
1.) The manual states:
@code{R CMD INSTALL} will detect if more that one build is installed
and try to install packages with the appropriate library objects
for each. This will not be done if the package

Plotting from functions
I can plot to png's fine when i run this directly from the top-level
script/console:
png('diamonds.png');qplot(carat,price,data=diamonds);dev.off()
But for some reason it's not working when that's in a function:
(function(){png('diamonds.png');qplot(carat,price,data=diamonds);dev.off()})()
I suspect this is because the qplot's return value must be

Invalid font in bitmap()
Dear all,
A few weeks ago I asked about X11() availability using CGI-perl. The
general advice was to use bitmap which requires ghostscript (Xvnc and
Xvbf were the other alternatives). My system administrator got around to
installing Aladin Ghostscript 6.0 and the setting the R_GSCMD
environment variable. Other system specification is given below.
But now I have a new problem that says that font

ggplot2 - Problem with grid plot
Hi R-help
I'm trying to create a grid plot in which each plot in the grid contains two
density plots (colored by factor) and two vertical lines at the respective
medians (also colored by the factor).
Using the diamonds dataset as an example, the following commands give me
price density plots by factor cut in a single, ungridded plot.
p <- ggplot(data=diamonds, aes(x=price)) +

Per your suggestion, I reinstalled R 2.9.0, then
I reinstalled ggplot2 on top. The problem persists.
