New MIT KRB5 Port
While the ports freeze is still in effect, I have a new MIT KRB5-1.4 port ready for commit. Anyone willing to use this preview version of the port or test it is welcome to use it. I've put it at http://komquats.com/ports/krb5- 1.4.tar.bz2. If you have any problems or issues with it, just send me an email. krb5-1.4.3 is released (fwd)
I will be updating the KRB5 port shortly. The updated port, as it stands right now, builds and installs cleanly on the i386 version of 6.0. I need to verify it builds and installs on 5.4, 4.11, and 7.0-CURRENT (my "checkout" of 7.0 as of three days ago currently doesn't build here). I should have the upgraded port committed sometime during the weekend. Cheers, Cy Schubert

MIT Krb5 Port Upgrade
I will be updating the MIT krb5 port to krb5-1.3.2 this weekend. Unfortunately crypto-publish.org does not distribute the new source yet. Traditionally I disabled support for fetch from crytpo-publish.org until they updated their website with the latest krb5 sources, requiring the port to fetch the source from MIT in all cases. This time will be different, that is unless of course someone

krb5-1.3.2 is released (fwd)
Just a quick heads up, I'm currently working on this. It's building on -CURRENT. Yet to be done, testing on -CURRENT, build & test on -STABLE, and verification of pkg-plist currency. I will post patches to the krb5 port to -security and -ports and assuming I don't get negative feedback, I will commit sometime late Saturday or on Sunday when I return from my trip Vancouver. As

HEADS UP: Krb5-1.5
There is an issue with the new Kerberos 1.5. It does not currently support building static libraries. I'm willing to leave the port at 1.4.3 until MIT fixes the static library build. OTOH, if folks want 1.5, without static library support, the 1.5 port is ready to commit. I may update the port to build 1.5 if static libraries are not wanted and build 1.4.3 if they are wanted. tripwire port broken?
Dear list! I've tried to compile tripwire-2.3.1-2 port on my 5.2 release. Two diffe- rent tarballs have failed with message, that port was broken, all in one sentence. No any details. Well! Makefile has so- mething like: .if ${OSVERSION} >= 500000 BROKEN= "Fails to build inder 5.X" .endif One more: USE_GMAKE= yes Has someone compiled it successfully? Is it for a good

AHC Panic
I've finally been able to capture the panic, as now it occurs even with DDB configured. Of the six machines I have running 6.1-RC (CVSupped today), this is the only one that does this. /boot/kernel/kernel text=0x30c488 data=0x3b6a0+0x3170c syms=[0x4+0x46430+0x4+0x58da4] no such file or directory - Hit [Enter] to boot immediately, or any other key for command prompt. tripwire / .xauth$$$$ problem on Centos5
Dear All, I'm using Centos5 to run a firewall, and as part of the intrusion detection apparatus, I use tripwire (tripwire-2.4.1.1-1.fc6.x86_64.rpm - as made for fedora core 6, and then tweaked with my own twpol.txt). My problem, is that when I su to root, a .xauth file is created with a random tail name - i.e. /root/.xauthyN4aHS or /root/.xauth1sGdFh and this causes tripwire to

Tripwire Question
I'm trying to run tripwire on a RHEL 5.4 box. I'm new to it. I'm getting errors: The object: "/ora" is on a different file system...ignoring. For one thing, it's not a different file system. It's not any different than the root partition, that tripwire will monitor. And I want tripwire to monitor it. I've been googling around, and have seen this error in

Tripwire for CentOS
Hi, I literally have about 36 machines running CentOS on a private network, and will probably change the remaining 30 or so away from Whitebox or RH in the near term. One thing I just noticed was when I tried to search out Tripwire RPM's, that none seemed evident. Can anyone point me in the direction of an Tripwire RPM that works with CentOS 4.3, or advise me on how to create one from the

tripwire alternative
Hello all, Years ago, I used to work with tripwire for system monitoring. Last time I checked with "yum search tripwire", there is no hit. IIRC, it used to be packed by default on older Redhat distros. Any suggestion for an alternative of tripwire for my CentOS 5.6? Tripwire mess..
This may be, or may not be a security issue, however, since alot of people still use tripwire-1.2 or lesser versions(this is what shipped with R.H. Linux 5.2 at least), they might be interested in following detail: Chuck Campbell (campbell@neosoft.com) pointed me out that tripwire dies with coredump on R.H. linux, if it hits a filename containing 128-255 characters. Playing a bit with debugger I

Tripwire and cron
I am trying to get tripwire 1.2 patch level 2 on Redhat 6.2 to run out of cron and so far have failed miserably. It runs fine from the command line so I know my configuration is ok, but when it runs from cron it gets to Phase 3 and simply exits. It doesn''t generate any error messages or leave any core files laying around.

Actually I just looked at my RH 5.2 dist and it looks as if Tripwire 1.3 is shipped with it.

tripwire support
Me again... I looked for tripwire rpms and came up blank on your mirrors. I was able to find them at a rpmfind site (for both el3 and el4), but it would be nice to have it included in the extras area. Any chance of this happening anytime soon? Thanks in advance Brad
