MultiDatabase shard count limitations
Going back to the "prioritizing aggregated DBs" thread from
February 2020, I've got 390 Xapian shards for 130 public inboxes
I want to search against(*). There's more on the horizon (we're
expecting tens of thousands of public inboxes).
After bumping RLIMIT_NOFILE and running ->add_database a bunch,
the actual queries seem to be taking ~30s (not good :x).
Now I'm

xapian core missing link to math on MSYS2
Dear All,
I've tried to build xapian-core 1.4.3 on MSYS2. It fails with attached
error (undefined reference to `exp10'). I think it might be missing an
explicit link to 'm'. I'm not able to fix this myself as I do not
know autotools sufficiently well, but I hope you might be able to help.
Cheers,

build error : xapian-core-0.9.4_svn6707
I posted this message first. But it was missing so I post again.
I think there is a some bug in build configration files.
Can you check up the following errors and fix it?
The error has no concern with UTF-8 patch.
Environment : CentOS 4.3 x86_64

Backend for Lucene format indexes-How to get doclength
Hi, all:
I have wrote a demo patch for Backend for Lucene format indexes, Lucene
version is 3.6.2.
http://lucene.apache.org/core/3_6_2/fileformats.html
Now, this demo patch just support the basic features in Lucene. Compound
File(.cfs/.cfe)?term vector(.tvx/.tvd/.tvf)
delete document(.del) are not supported, skip list in .fdx is not supported
too
example/quest.cc is used to test this demo.

performance on document.get_data()
I got some performance issue for document.get_data() and
enquire.get_mset(). It costs 35 seconds for matches =
enquire.get_mset(0,200), and 3 seconds for iterating all doc in matches to
get_data. Is't normal? My index contains 30millions documents. I use python
binding to operate xapian. Bellow it's my index structure

# data: json message which contains: author,

Backend for Lucene format indexes-How to get doclength
*Or do you mean that it's one number per document whereas the other stats
are per database, so it's harder to store it?*
yes, I mean this. It's a huge data. If a new doclength list(contains all
the doclength in a list, like chert)
is added by myself, I am concern about:
1. This doclength list may be the bottlenect in this backend,

2. Change too much

Segmentation fault in MSetIterator get_weight
Hi,
I'm using xapian with c# and mono and i'm having a segfault in get_weight.
When i print the index variable, the value is clearly too high.
I think something write over it. Do you have any idea on how i could
trace the beginning of the segmentation fault ?
Thanks,

Memory leak
Hello,
There is a memory leak in Xapian 1.2.4.
We use a persistant connection in FastCGI processes. As soon
as we catch this exception, "dmalloc" recognizes memory leaks:
The revision being read has been discarded - you should
call Xapian::Database::reopen() and retry the operation
Down below the output of "dmalloc".
This happens only on the production system. On my

Weighting Schemes -- Project Progress
Hello everyone,
I have been working on adding support for BM25+ weighting function from the
last couple of weeks. Initially, I considered modifying bm25weight.cc to
add support for BM25+ function without disturbing functionalities of BM25.
But that didn't work out very well. A day or two was spent trying to
refactor and debug the same code.
Later, I took another approach following the
