dendrogram stops!
Dear I am using the 'as.dendrogram' function from the 'stats' library to convert from an hclust object to a dendrogram with a dataset of size
~30000 (an example code is below). I need the dendrogram structure to
use the "dendrapply" and "attributes" functions and to access the child
nodes, I do not need any of the plot properties.
The problem is that it

A question on stats::as.hclust.dendrogram
Hi all,
This is the first time I'm writing to R-devel, and this time I'm just asking for the purpose for a certain line of code in stats::as.hclust.dendrogram, which comes up as I'm trying to fix dendextend.
The line in question is at line 128 of dendrogram.R in R-3.3.3, at stats::as.hclust.dendrogram:
stopifnot(length(s) == 2L, all( vapply(s, is.integer, NA) ))
Is there any

Reimplement stats:::plotNode as iterative to avoid recursion limits?
Hi All,
I've gotten a number of reports from users about gplots::heatmap.2 generating 'node stack overflow' errors. As it turns out, these errors originate in stats:::plotNode, and are triggered when it is passed a dendrogram that is too deeply nested.
While increasing the stack size (which is a compile-time option for byte coded functions) can allow a particular instance to

Problem loading .r file
Hello all,
I was trying to load a .r file using source() and load() functions.
Although I could be able to load the codes (mainly few user defined
functions) written in that .r. file correctly, however getting
following error:
> source("D:/Book Code.r")
Error in sys.call(sys.parent()) : node stack overflow
> load("D:/Book Code.r")

Basic Stats question
Dear All
I am a stats newbie and have a basic stats question;
i have y as dependent variable and x1 to x5 as dependent variable.
I need to know which variables x1 to x5 are actually affecting y. How
do I find out?
can an example be given which makes things clear (if possible)?
Thanks

reorder [stats] and reorder.factor [lattice]
It was recently pointed out on the lists that the S-PLUS Trellis suite has
a function called reorder.factor that's useful in getting useful ordering
of factors for graphs. I happily went ahead and implemented it, but it
turns out that R (not S-PLUS) has a generic called reorder (with a method
for "dendrogram"). Naturally, this causes R to think I'm defining a
method for

DC replication
So finally I got the net vampire to work.
I had to roll back to commit 62e0a74 bypassing all the updates done by mdw at samba.org for now.
Now the replication

PDC2 is the second is the second domain controller created by net vampire

filter children with acts_as_tree
Hello Experts,
I have a tree of categories in this category object there is a property
called type.
the root categories have no type but the children have. so how I can get
all the roots with filled in children that have category type = ''B'' for
instance.
I tried to run Category.roots then delete children With a category not
equal to ''B'' but this causes a major

Bayesian Relative Survival Analysis in R?
Hi all,
May i know does R has packages or code to run "Bayesian Relative Survival Analysis"? Problems with heatmap.2
Hi
When I give the command:
>
heatmap.2(as.matrix(d),Rowv=as.dendrogram(hc.gene),Colv=FALSE,scale="row
",trace="none",col=greenred.colors(79))
The resulting heatmap has re-ordered my columns! This is time-course
data, and I don't want my columns re-ordered! Note from the help:
Rowv: determines if and how the _row_ dendrogram should be
reordered.

Samba vs. Firewall and/or SELinux
Hi all.
I created a smb-share on my el6 for all windows-pcs in my
home-network (I'm the only Linux-User in my family) for sharing all the
stuff we have, like music and videos and documents. The share will be
shown on the other pcs (Windows XP), but they can't open it. The
error-message ist "Share not found" on our preferred language of course!

accessing the "address" of items in a recursive list
Dear useRs,
I am working on a project involving the clustering of a large dataset. I need to extract specific sub-clusters from the parent dendrogram for further analysis. The data is too large for the use of convenient tools such as identify.clust (it selects the specific group of interest on a graph), so alternatively I have saved the plot as a large image file so that it can be printed or

problem building dendrograms to use with heatmap()
Hi,
I'm trying to build dendrograms to pass to heatmap().
The dendrograms I build plot properly, but when I pass them to heatmap() I get
the error message "row dendrogram ordering gave index of wrong length" (see
output log below).
I looked in the code of heatmap() and saw that the error was due to a NULL
return value from order.dendrogram(), which in turn got a NULL return value

IMAP Get Savedate plugin
Hi,
I want to add a feature to the fetch command in IMAP, by enabling it to return the save
date, when I request the SAVEDATE parameter.
I want to use this for my webmail application, so I can show the users the deleted date
when they are viewing the Trash folder.
I was able to put it directly into the code (patch attached), but I was wondering if
there is a way to put it as a plugin instead.

Help with hclust() and plot()
Hi
When I use plot(hclust(dist..)...)...) etc to create a dendrogram of a
hierarchial cluster analysis, I end up with a vertical tree. What do I
need to do to get a horizontal tree?
Also, my users are used to seeing trees who's leaves all "end" at the
same place (eg. Like in minitab). Is this possible in R?
Thanks

dendrogram again
Hi all,
ok, i know i can cut a dendrogram, which i did.
all i get is three objects that a dendrograms itself.
for example:
myd$upper, myd$lower[[1]], myd$lower[[2]]
and so on. of course i can plot them seperately now.
but the lower parts still have hundreds of branches. i?ll need a 30 "
widescreen to watch the whole picture.
what i?d like to is group the lower branches , so that i get a
