failure to connect to Bloomber using Rbbg from batch script on Windows
I am having a puzzling problem with bloomberg connection. When i  run from R prompt some code that has .... library(Rbbg) conn <- blpConnect(throw.ticker.errors = FALSE) print("connected") ... I establish connection every time and then proceed to get data when i run this code from R prompt. However, when i run this from a batch script, i get the following error output from Rbbg:

Numerical Derivatives in R
Hi, Suppose I have an arbitrary function: arbfun<-function(x) {...} Is there a robust implementation of a numerical derivative routine in R which I can use to take it's derivative ? Something a bit more than simple division by delta of the difference of evaluating the function at x and x+delta... Perhaps there is a way to do this using D or deriv but I could not figure it out.

Generating a double-exponential jump diffusion process
Dear R Users, Does anyone know of a package which can generate random realisations of a double-exponential jump diffusion process with a drift ? Something where I can specify the likelihoods of an up or a down jump, the drift rate, and the mean size, and get back a vector of realisation of the process (for purposes of a Monte-Carlo). Matrix package will not loead
Dear Fellow R Users, I am having a problem with the Matrix package, in Windows XP on R 2.15.1 . This is the only package where I experience this. Hi, I am trying to plot multiple lines on a graph. The function is particularly simple: sigma<-function(lambda) atm-2*rr*(lambda-0.5)+16*str*(lambda-0.5)^2 which uses the variables atm, rr and str... fine grain tick marks for zoo plots

Plotting three time series on the same graph

Information on the number of CPU's
