[PATCH v5 0/3] make mac programming for virtio net more robust
Currenly mac is programmed byte by byte. This means that we have an intermediate step where mac is wrong. Third patch introduced a new vq control command to set mac address, it's atomic. V2: check return of sending command, delay eth_mac_addr() V3: restore software address when fail to set hardware address V4: split eth_mac_addr, fix error handle V5: rebase patches to net-next tree Amos

[PATCH] virtio-net: Fix DMA-from-the-stack in virtnet_set_mac_address()
With CONFIG_VMAP_STACK=y, virtnet_set_mac_address() can be passed a pointer to the stack and it will OOPS. Copy the address to the heap to prevent the crash. Cc: Michael S. Tsirkin <mst at redhat.com> Cc: Jason Wang <jasowang at redhat.com> Cc: Laura Abbott <labbott at redhat.com> Reported-by: zbyszek at in.waw.pl Signed-off-by: Andy Lutomirski <luto at kernel.org> ---

[PATCH net-next 1/3] virtio_net: set multicast filter list to host
The virtio_net driver never sends the multicast address list to the host. This is because send command takes a pointer to scatter list to send but only inserts that one entry into the outgoing scatter list. This bug has been there since: commit f565a7c259d71cc186753653d978c646d2354b36 Author: Alex Williamson <alex.williamson at hp.com> Date: Wed Feb 4 09:02:45 2009 +0000 virtio_net:

[QEMU PATCH v4 0/3] virtio-net: fix of ctrl commands
From: Amos Kong <akong at redhat.com> Currently virtio-net code relys on the layout of descriptor, this patchset removed the assumptions and introduced a control command to set mac address. Last patch is a trivial renaming. V2: check guest's iov_len V3: fix of migration compatibility make mac field in config space read-only when new feature is acked V4: add fix of descriptor layout

[PATCH v2 0/2] Part 2: handle addr_assign_type for random addresses
The second part of my patch series to fix the handling of addr_assign_type for random MAC addresses. This contains the trival changes from random_ether_addr() to new eth_hw_addr_random() and code to reset the state to NET_ADDR_PERM as soon as the MAC get changed via .ndo_set_mac_address where eth_mac_addr wasn't used. Danny Kukawka (2): net: replace random_ether_addr() with
