I see a lot of chatter in the archives about intercom and paging, but has anyone addressed zone paging? Each of the 50 telephones in a large clinic would be members of one or more paging zones. Someone could then page Dr. X in zone #1. Would this be possible with analog phones? SIP? Thanks, Mike

Does anyone know if its possible to have more than one sound card in an Asterisk box and use each one as a paging zone? How about left and right channels of a single sound card? I'm looking to have 2 paging outputs if possible - I've read about using a Grandstream phone on autoanswer but I'd prefer to have the feeds come directly from the * box and go into a stereo amp feeding 2

Why *wouldn't* I bother? Using $5-$10 sound cards would be a much cheaper, professional, and more permanent solution than having a couple hacked phones laying near the PA system. Just trying to keep the setup clutter and problem free, as well as as cheap as possible. Im looking for an Intercom solution thats interoperable wit Asterisk. Ive read several posts about people using the 2nd lines on some SIP phones w/speaker phone. Unfortunatley I dont that is going to cut it in a large warehouse enviroment. Does anyone have a solution that uses a "loudspeaker" ? Thank you, Steve Maroney

Does anyone have an (overhead) paging system that they like that works with SIP? We've got a client with an old paging system that (supposedly) just takes an rj11 POTS connection, but when we put an SPA Cisco adapter on it, it doesn't auto-answer the call, so paging never happens. Hi; I'm trying to connect a TDM400P with an FXS module to a Valcom V-9940 Paging adaptor. This port on the TDM400P was connected to a 2500 Set and was working I just re-connected it to the Valcom (which is known to work on a Telco POTS line) and its not picking up.
