Samba AD with internal DNS: Can't resolve aliases anymore
Hi,
I've setup a Samba 4 based AD server a while ago and everything was
working fine for some time. However, since a few days it seems it
doesn't resolve aliases anymore. I can query them using the host
command, but a simple ping then fails to resolve the name:
% host alias1
alias1.altum.de is an alias for server1.
% ping alias1

Samba Internal DNS vs. BIND_DLZ
Ah, LDAP is included within Samba, I find. Don't install provided one...
I suppose I will have to find what schemas, particularly if the bind dlz
schema is included?

R 4.0.0 build error with sysdata.rda on ppc64el architecture
Hum, at least it is not Apple, so maybe you can attach a debugger to the running process? (gdb -p process_id or something like that --- haven't actually done it for a decade). Then at least we can get a stack trace and a clue about where it is looping. Diddling optimization options can also sometimes provide a clue.

ADS and trusted domains=no
Hello,
we have a problem with the same userid's in different domains.
we have to set the option "allow trusted domains = No" because winbind seens
not beable to browse the
hole AD (30 Domains over 20000 users).
So everything is working fine like kerberos, net commands,....
Ticket name is [user1@DomA.net]
[ 3151]: getpwnam DomA\user1

missing enctypes in exported keytab
Dear all,
this is using debian stretch and Louis' 4.8.11 packages. I am trying to
export a keytab, and even for a UPN, samba does not export the AES keys.
What could be the mistake?

CRAN R 4.0.0 for Ubuntu repos missing r-recommend dependency
Hi Dirk,
Thanks for the suggested workarounds. This was just a VM I had spun up so I
could test R4.0.0. I'm happy to wait for Michael to fix it when he has time.
