blockcopy for libvirt and version compatibility
I'm currently running: virsh --version 1.0.2 libvirtd --version libvirtd (libvirt) 1.0.2 I have a couple questions. 1. Can I upgrade my libvirt.so version to use with an older libvirtd? In other words, does the versions of libvirt and libvirtd need to be in lock step? 2. I'm able to use virsh blockcopy, but I want to do it programmatically via C. I looked through the API and was not

Re: Dynamically setting permanent memory libvirt-lxc
Eric, thank you for your response. Virsh memtune, setmaxmem and setmem won't survive a reboot. I'm hoping to find  a solution that can survive reboot.   On Thursday, January 30, 2014 11:36 AM, Eric Blake <eblake@redhat.com> wrote: On 01/30/2014 10:11 AM, mallu mallu wrote: > I'm trying to permanently change memory allocation for a libvirt-lxc domain. no connection driver available for No connection for URI xen:///
Hello Community, I am installing a domU image via virt-install. However, it seems that a driver needs to be installed for the connection as I saw an error while running the command. Dynamically setting permanent memory libvirt-lxc
I'm trying to permanently change memory allocation for a libvirt-lxc domain. So far I tried changing memory in memory.limit_in_bytes under /cgroup/memory/libvirt/lxc/<container>/.  This didn't help. It appears that libvirt is not reading changes in cgroup. My requirements are 1) Be able to dynamically change memory of a LXC domain without reboot 2) The memory change must survive

Is there a way for telling libvirt to auto define an xml under /etc/libvirt/qemu?
Hi everybody, like in the subject: is there a way for telling libvirt to auto define an xml under /etc/libvirt/qemu? I mean, sometimes it happens to have the /etc/libvirt/qemu shared between nodes, say with a NFS share, since I can set a new xml on a node and I want o see the virtual machine on all the others, is there a way to automate this or am I obligated to launch virsh define <xml> on

Connecting libvirt to manually compiled QEMU
Hello I have manually compiled a customized qemu (1.4.0) which runs fine on its own (create VM etc) but I want to access this qemu through libvirt (virt-manager, virsh etc). But the libvirt driver only looks into "/usr/bin" for qemu binaries, how can I tell libvirt to connect to my qemu which is placed at "/home/user/qemu" directory. -- Asadullah Hussain
