basic_auth problem since 0.6.9
I have a site that I don''t think "returns" a basic_auth request, but is able to use basic_auth. In the past on 0.6.8, I could use the following code: require ''rubygems'' # gem ''mechanize'', ''=0.6.8'' require ''mechanize'' agent = WWW::Mechanize.new agent.basic_auth("username", "password")

dovecot 1.1alpha6 deliver+quota bugs
I was playing around with dovecot-1.1 and maildir++ quotas, and ran into a reproducible error with indexing. This only seems to be a problem for new maildirs. If I send a message without the quota plugin on, and "seed" the index/control files, future deliveries with the quota plugin seem to succeed without errors. Version: 1.1alpha6 OS: Debian etch/x86 (ext3 filesystem) #

v1.1.alpha3 released
http://dovecot.org/releases/1.1/alpha/dovecot-1.1.alpha3.tar.gz http://dovecot.org/releases/1.1/alpha/dovecot-1.1.alpha3.tar.gz.sig All kinds of fixes and API changes. Previous alphas had some problems with index handling, now I didn't get any errors after almost 24h of stress testing. As a new feature userdb passwd now supports overriding some fields with templates.

Problem with Samba cutting dir listings short
Hi, I have a peculiar problem with my Samba installation. I have a directory with lots of files that I want to make available via Samba. I can connect just fine, but I quickly noticed a lot of files seemed to be missing. After some testing I found out that the directory listing was simple cut off, right in the middle of a filename even. I created a test-directory with 1000 random files in

Crash with 1.1alpha2 when lazy_expunge is enabled?
I'm seeing a crash in 1.1alpha2 when trying to expunge a folder when "lazy_expunge" is enabled: namespace private { separator = . prefix = .EXPUNGED/ location = maildir:/mailstore/%u/Expunged hidden = yes } ... lazy_expunge = .EXPUNGED/ .EXPUNGED/ .EXPUNGED/ Commenting out "lazy_expunge" prevents the crash and mail is expunged. It happens with and without

Reservation protocol?
Is there any particular protocol we should use to avoid stomping on each others toes when working on particular patches? It is quite easy to generate double nasty conflicts when working with patches of patches. I'm currently working through the patch set starting at the top (my patch tool was unhappy with 002-sync-bitops), working down my todo list. bobo@linux:~/paravirt> hg status M

smbd not talking to winbindd?
Hello, I'm running a compiled-from-source instance of Samba 3.4.5 on RHEL AS 4u2, and am having some flakiness with AD-Unix mappings. We're talking to a Windows 2008R2 server, with AD in "2003 mode" I believe. What the issue appears to be is that smbd does not seem to want to talk with winbindd. One moment my account worked: [2010/01/25 08:13:07, 3]

SIGBART/SIGSEGV while SELECTing virtual folder
Hello! I just installed Dovecot's latest nightly build (20081020) and tried the virtual folder features. I started with a really simple "all" folder: | # virtual/all | * | all But selecting this folder causes dovecot to panic (in most cases). While trying to debug this, I got slightly different results and I am not really sure yet if this is just non-deterministic, depends on

UID/GID access control in Lustre
Hello list members, I started to develop a kernel module which hooks into Lustre 2.3 for controlling data access based on nid and uid/gid. The background is the following: Here at GSI we have currently a reserved uid/gid space which partner institutes are using to access our exported Lustre mounts. However, we currently have no mechanism to control (guaranty) that the reserved uid/gid space are
